Ink Time!
Funded Apr 2, 2024It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give toward the Ink needed for my brand new classroom printer. With the Ink that was donated we have been able to create differentiated graphic organizers to further our small group learning amongst our students. We have also been able to print material for our classroom organization, that helps both the teachers and students allocate items in the classroom. Although, we have the printer in the classroom, the purchase of the Ink allows for usage of the printer in so many useful ways then the ones just mentioned.
Again, thank you for your donation. Our students's faces lit up when I printed their projects to display on the bulletin board! They love to see their work proudly displayed for all to see. We thank you for all that you did for our classroom.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Dhillon
Let Me Show Off Their Work -Let Me Print It!
Funded Oct 1, 2023We got our new printer in record time, thanks to your generosity. It was easy to put together, simple to use and prints out lovely projects as well as classroom essentials. I will be attaching pictures so make sure you take a peak!
It truly makes a difference, when students see their work printed and displayed. The bonus part of this printer is that it is color as well. So when I printed the recent project we did and showcased the students work on the bulletin board-it really looked great! The students were so proud, and were eager to show off their work. Even to those not in their class!
Teaching classes with a diverse population, also allows me as a teacher to create some visuals that I can use that can help the students. My classroom looks amazing and my students are happy learning. The best combination ever!
Thank you again.”

My One and Only Laptop ...To Share
Funded May 13, 2019The laptop is beautiful to look at and even more lovely to use. It is easy and functional so my students with advance tech skills can use it as well as those with minimal technology experience.
I have students that have assistive technology on their IEP and the laptop has helped those students take notes when my lesson is being conducted. Other students can recreate the worksheets I use in the classroom on the laptop and work from the laptop itself.
Having the laptop and being able to use it on the spot for making notes, using it in meetings and making templates are some of the ways that this tool has simplified teaching and learning.
Thank you again for your generosity in making this one laptop possible, where so many love its many uses.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Dhillon
This classroom project was brought to life by Craig Newmark Philanthropies and 3 other donors. One Printer is all it Takes to Bring a Smile
Funded Apr 5, 2019The new printer came in and I don't know who was more excited to set it up, me or the students! Well, it is lovely, not too big, runs quietly and smoothly. We are excited to have this in our classroom.
The photos that you will see are letters and student work printed from the new printer to let you know how grateful the students are for your donations that made this so possible!
This is particularly great for students who do not have a printer at home, and who can just send me their work and I can print it for them or they can print right from the classroom. Those children no longer need to come in early to find a printer in school to print their work. What a time saver!!
Thank you again for your generosity.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Dhillon
Historical Joy!
Funded Feb 4, 2019I was so excited to open the box of the new books that I received. My unit on American Revolution includes reading realistic fiction stories to help the students depict life during this time period in our country. Therefore, the book My Brother Sam is Dead, is relatable to the children because of its family based story line that was set during the American Revolution.
My Brother Sam is Dead, can be used in many ways depending on my classes needs. I have used this already in a small group setting, whole class read aloud and as an individual book club reading book.
The skill set that kids learn from read aloud is valuable. Annunciation of words, pace, tone, and mood help children learn to read the same way for their own selves. Talking about this book brings a commonality among the students, and is a good way to collaborate together.
I am very thankful for these books and will enjoy reading them and sharing them with my students for years to come. It makes the American Revolution come to life!!”

Just One Laptop Is All My Students Need!!
Funded Oct 14, 2015I am forever humbled with your generosity in giving to my classroom. This one laptop has helped not one but a lot of my students. Some of my students do not have any technical devices at home and most of my students are of special needs that lack motor skills that limit their good writing skills.
Your donation has given me the laptop that is simple and easy to operate and can be carried from class to class for my students to use. Since it is a Samsung ChromeBook, my students write their essay's in Google Docs, which then can be retrieved from any place. There is no need for a flash drive to worry about saving and finding their documents. I have seen essay's of great caliber since the use of this particular laptop. I am very proud of each of my student's ability to produce such work with the help of this little laptop. They are eager to work. One student in particular even stays for after school hours just so that he can work on his assignments!
I cannot express the simple joy of making my job a little bit easier, a bit more fun, and a whole lot of pridefulness in my students work. A great end of year present for my classroom. :)”

All it Takes is a Laminator!
Funded Apr 3, 2014All it takes, is a laminator to make life easier for students with special needs. My students lit up when I gave them these laminated words. I was able to make them big and bright, so they can see and understand what they are supposed to do.
When my students walk into my classroom they are able to see the board clearly defined and in order of the way the lesson is going to be conducted. They are able to follow along. For the ones that need extra assistance, I made an Agenda sign and put it next to them, telling them what they should be doing next. My Break pass is good for ALL students not just the special education students.
What I noticed since I made all these signs is a better sense of an organized classroom that seems to help all students that come into my room. I move the signs on the board to let kids know what part of the lesson I am up to, sometimes I write all the way down with the signs next to each step of the lesson. Either way, the students like it and are more organized themselves. I am sharing the laminator with my colleagues so that they can make the difference for their students as well.
I am glad that your kindness and generosity funding my project has made a difference in my teaching and in my students learning. I want all the best for them when they walk into my classroom and you have made that possible. All it took was a laminator to make a BIG difference!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Dhillon
Inspiring the Love of Reading
Funded Dec 1, 2013Once I received the notice that the books were donated, I was so excited to let my book club girls know! I told my book club that a very generous donor was kind enough to buy new books for them and for future Ms. Dhillon book club readers. They were very grateful.
As you will see in the pictures, my book club readers are very happy and interested in reading all about Margaret in "Are you there God, it's me Margaret and "Blubber" both by Judy Blume. When I first gave them the books, they looked at them with bright shiny eyes and they all commented on how "new they are."
My school as a few book clubs going, but this year is the first year I decided to participate with my very own group. I wanted to do a girls book club as I feel like these books are the kind every girl should read and can easily relate to. And of course feel at ease when discussing personal issues that they might bring up amongst themselves. I am so glad that I started this group, the girls are really enjoying the experience and we have had deep conversations already! The word has spread and, other students have asked me if they can join my book club when this one is over! I am so excited as my whole reasoning for doing a book club was to inspire the love of reading, and I think I have accomplished this task for many years to come with my students.
I cannot express the sincere gratitude towards your generosity, but I hope this letter and these pictures will show how you have inspired the love of reading in all of us and made it very possible to do so.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Dhillon
