Art You Gelli
Funded Nov 7, 2024I want to thank you for your donations my grant Art You Gelli. The excitement in my students faces when they saw the new materials just in and out of the boxes was wonderful. Most of my fifth grade students had never heard of Gelli printing. The experimenting that the students get to do is wonderful to see. The way that they realize how different colors can mix to create a new colors. The way they lay paint on the Gelli plates and use different textures to create interesting textures, and designs. The excitement and the younger students is faces when they get to see what they get to do in the future. Thank you again for your donation to my classroom my students have enjoyed with excitement the materials.”

Cyanotype Art
Funded Nov 9, 2023I want to thank you tremendously for helping, provide extra art supplies. These supplies are for my current students and former students. They are excited at the fact of using the sun to print. How science and art work together.
I want my students to just experience different aspects of art and this is a new way that we are going to be able to achieve that by doing cyanotype. The fact that the supplies are going to be used all the way through the high school is very fun and exciting.
Again, thank you so very much for your donations.”

Art Felt So Good
Funded Apr 7, 2023want to thank you for your donations my grant I Felt Art and Loved It. The excitement in my students faces when I showed them the felting materials was wonderful. Most of my fourth grade students had never heard of the term fiber arts or felting. Once I explained and showed them some examples of felted art projects they became even more excited. They were fascinated by the different colors of the roving; it was hard for several of them to choose the colors that they wanted to use for their bookmarks.
When I showed the students the other felting supplies they were going to be using most of them got even more excited. I did have a couple that didn't want to use the needles (since they were big), but I asked them to try it and see if they would like it, which they ended up loving it. Some of my fourth grades have asked where they can get their own felting supplies because they said, "I'm going to have my momma get me some." This will be one of those projects my students are going to remember as they grow up.
Several students in other grades have asked when do they get to do some needle felting, and I have told them that they get to when they are in fourth grade. My third graders are going to be doing some wet felting in the spring. I can't wait to do the needle felting again with my fourth graders next year and I'm excited about doing the wet felting with my third graders in the spring. Thank you again for your donation to my classroom my students have enjoyed with excitement the materials”

Art You Glad We Friends
Funded May 9, 2023I want to express my gratitude for the support that you have given to my students and myself. My students really enjoyed learning how to make the Kumihimo (Japanese friendship bracelet). Once they understood the pattern, they realized that we were using math " in a fun way." They talked about who they were with want to give the bracelets to. There were several that made several out of school and brought them to him and gave them to their friends. They did enjoy learning about the Japanese culture. I want to thank you again for your donation. My students have really enjoyed and we look forward to doing it again.”

Funded Aug 23, 2022I want to thank you for your donations for my grant Art You Ready to Read Again. The books have added a lot of joy to my students. I now have a nice little library in my art room for them to enjoy.
A few of my students have already enjoyed reading some of the books on their own when they are finished with an art project. The Spot the Differences Book have been a big hit. They really make the students look at art closely.
My students have gotten a kick out of knowing some of the books that are on specific artist, such as, Georgia O'Keeffe, Faith Ringgold, Yayoi Kusama, and Frida Kahlo. This makes my heart happy for my students.
I can't wait to be able to add to my art library in the future. I want to see the love of reading grow in my art room. Thank you again from all of my student's kindergarten through fourth grade and myself. I look forward to them reading all of them.”

Art You Ready To Draw Again
Funded Mar 1, 2022My students were extremely excited when I had told them that this grant had been funded. They were even more excited when they saw the box is coming in and getting unpacked. The students knew that they would have mirrors that they would be able to use for self portraits that they could really look at themselves. They were also extremely excited at the fact that they had actual skin tones to choose from when drawing themselves. With the whiteboards it helps them not be afraid to make a mistake in their art. Again thank you so very much for all of your support.”

Funded Sep 29, 2021I want to thank you for your donations for my grant Art You Ready for a Good Story. The books have added a lot of joy to my students. I now have a nice little library in my art room for them to enjoy.
A few of my students have already enjoyed reading some of the books on their own when they are finished with an art project. The books by Sabrina Hahn are very nice and great. They are simple with great pictures not only for my littles but for my lower student as well. This makes my heart happy for my students.
Another set of the books that my students have really enjoyed are the How to draw... books. They have enjoyed seeing how to break objects, people, and different things down step by step to learn how to draw them. What I really love to hear is some of the correct art terms being used when they are drawing, They don't always think it looks right or good, I tell them It's good or it better than before.
I can't wait to be able to add to my art library in the future. I want to see the love of reading grow in my art room. Thank you again from all of my student's kindergarten through fourth grade and myself. I look forward to them reading all of them.”

Funded Sep 25, 2021My students are enjoying being able to move around the Art room to draw because of the new clip boards it has helped with their creativity flow. They can find a spot for themselves and be creative. The white boards have also allowed my students to change their ides without getting upset that they made a mistake. The new multi-cultural drawing supplies have opened up a new outlet for them. My older students have enjoyed being able to use markers, colored pencils, and crayons that are closer to their own skin tones for their self-portraits. The use of these new supplies are helping my students express their selves better.”
