Currently, my students are using worn out, marked-up desks to complete their independent work. We desperately need these tables because I have noticed that grouping students together promotes healthy learning. Students are more likely to complete their work and often learn best from their peers. In addition, my third grade students struggle with organization no matter how many times it is reinforced in the classroom. They often throw papers inside their desks and then can’t find them later in the day. I need these tables to help students stay organized by forcing them to keep all of their work in designated sections in the classroom. I want students to experience these brand new tables as they work tirelessly to complete their work. I want these tables to be symbolic of the positive learning environment I strive to have in place each day!
