  • iLove Learning

    Funded Mar 11, 2011

Thank you so very much for donating to our project! Because of your generosity, our classroom now has an iPod and portable speakers for use during classroom activities. The opportunities for using the iPod extend even beyond what I had originally anticipated and the students were especially excited when the materials arrived.

We are using the iPod and speakers for music and also for a variety of learning games. The students are especially fond of two language arts games, Chicktionary and Mad Libs, and a math game, Tanzen. We have also downloaded the Kindle app and have basically transformed the iPod into a Kindle, making it possible for students to read downloaded books. Their excitement in using the iPod is amazing and we do thank for you making the iPod and speakers available for our classroom use.

Once again, we are greatly appreciative of your generosity and thank you so much for selecting our Donor's Choose project to support. Students from the current school year and those in future classes will benefit from the use of these materials. We feel very blessed to have your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. McGuire

  • Growing Gardeners to FEED USA

    Funded Mar 14, 2011

I cannot thank you enough for funding our Donor's Choose project "Growing Gardeners to FEED USA"! The students are enjoying the garden box and planting supplies received with the funding. We already have tomato plants and cucumber plants growing and are anticipating a vegetable feast before the year ends!

Although my students live in a rural area, many of them have had few opportunities with planting and gardening. The resources provided from this proposal will allow many students, for years to come, to enjoy the wonders of gardening in the classroom. Words cannot express how appreciative I am of you funding this effort!

Thank you once more from all of the students, current and future, who will enjoy the materials! We feel so blessed that you selected our proposal to fund.”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. McGuire

I serve seventh grade students in Science and Math. Our school is a small, rural school located in North Carolina. We have an interesting blend of personalities in each classroom, which can make for lively discussions and lessons. My students have limited educational opportunities outside of the classroom, as many come from economically disadvantaged homes. My goal is to provide students with opportunities to practice being a good friend, work on resolving conflicts, and discuss how to handle situations involving bullying.
