Last year I allowed my students to use their fidget toys in class while they were working. This simple act allowed so many students to focus more on their work and show improvement with their classwork. Having something they could actively do while they were working allowed their brain to focus on the task at hand. I could see this work throughout the classroom. Students who were once bouncing up and down were in their seats with their eyes glued to their assignment. Students who could not stay in their seat were able to remain in their seat and get their work completed. This is why I would like to provide my students with flexible seating options to allow them to learn in the way that is best for them. If a student needs to bounce their legs up and down while working, then I can provide them with a bouncing seat band to bounce their legs as much as they need. If a student does not want to sit in a traditional chair I want to be able to provide them with a bouncy ball, stool, floor cushion, wobble seat, or lap desk. I currently have a bouncy ball and a bean bag in the classroom and the students love them both. To avoid them continually fighting over them I must have the students take turns. I would love for all my students to have the type of seating that works best for them and this is why I have created this Donors Choose. Please help me provide my students with seating that will help them learn in a safe and positive environment.
