  • Senior Capstone and Celebrations

    Funded Mar 25, 2025

Thank you so much for your generosity. Our students have so many needs at the end of the year. We have a large senior capstone coming up as well. These supplies will go a long way to help make these projects and presentations fantastic. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lamkin

  • Fused Glass Projects

    Funded Dec 2, 2024

We are embarking on a new art form to offer our students--glass fusing. The students have been excited, and we are eager to see just where this leads. We began with students practicing glass fusing with small, passion projects. Our hope is to move it into a real option when it comes to classroom projects. We appreciate your donation, as it gives us the materials needed to both practice and to see student visions come to life in the form of glass. We always appreciate any support we can get, as we venture to push the boundaries of what mediums these students can master!”

  • Work Spaces an Supplies

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

At Tulsa School of Arts and Sciences, we are constantly seeking to enhance the experience of our students. Many of our students have high needs, and some struggle in a traditional school setting. Your donation allows us to not only meet the students where they are, but to engage them in "non-traditional" ways of learning. Ways that build confidence, creative skills, innovative spirits, and students who are emboldened to continue their journey as students. Supplies and alternative work spaces are instrumental to our goals, and we thank you for your contribution. Thanks for keeping education an important cause and worthy of your donation.”

  • Beautifying Common Spaces

    Funded Aug 13, 2024

After our school building burned down in 2012, we were shuffled around until we landed in a 100 year old school building that had sat vacant for some time. Over the years, we have worked tirelessly, and with very little funds, to create a space that feels more like home. We want our students to walk in and feel pride and ownership over their spaces. The plants are sprinkled throughout the common areas and provide some warmth. We are using our large format picture for posters and images. We will continue using all of the resources to make our space one in which learning and community are evident. Thank you for your donation to help us make this possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lamkin

  • Senior Celebrations

    Funded Aug 31, 2024

We are off to a great start for our 12th graders. Our participation and school spirit measures have risen due, in large part, to the efforts funded by you. We have a Senior Wall that is documenting their year. We have a senior "BINGO" card where they get to cross off an event or activity that they complete or attend. We cannot wait to see their faces when we use the completed BINGO cards for an end-of-year raffle. The seniors have really set the tone for future classes as well. What used to feel like a slog has felt more like a celebration. Thank you!”

  • Create, Make, Display!

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

Since we are an "Arts and Sciences" school, we feel a large responsibility to give our students the latest in materials and technology that our urban, Title 1 school can afford. We would not be able to do what we do without the generous donations of people and organizations. We have to constantly keep up with an ever-changing world, but also want to get back to the roots of creation, working with our hands, and collaboration in a tech-free environment. Hence, the project room and all of the supplies made available to our students. Thank you so much for contributing to our efforts!”

  • Resin Rules

    Funded May 22, 2024

We are constantly looking to updating and stocking our project room with all the latest in supplies and materials. When a student comes to us with a particular vision for their work, we want to be able to say "yes"! The resin option is new to our project room. We received the materials at the end of the year last year. We did have one student already use resin in their project. They created a project depicting a scene in the story "I heard the Owl Call my Name". The student built a clay tree and owl perched on its branch. They then created salmon out of clay and used a clear plastic bowl to pour resin as the water. It was so easy, and I am sure we will continue finding ways to incorporate resin into more projects! Thanks for you contribution to our school!”

  • Train Town Provocation

    Funded May 10, 2024

We officially have the train table and set out! The first few days of in-service, many teachers came and created something to add to the train town. We put up some information on the history of train towns (Boomtowns), and also some instructions of how to design a building for the laser cutter or create objects to be 3-d printed. During the first day of school, students began noticing the new table. Their curiosity drew them to the creative corner and some even began making items and placing them. We hope to continue to spark interest and inspire creative collaboration! Your contribution will help with this!”

  • Cross-curricular Resupply

    Funded Jan 25, 2024

The students at our small, but mighty, Arts an Sciences school have worked tirelessly these past few months. From a sixth grade International Float Parade to products developed based on read novels in the tenth grade, students find joy and determination while making projects. They thrive when they have new ways of demonstrating their learning. And it is because of donors like you who make it all possible. Since we are a 6th-12th grade school, we tend to blaze through supplies rather quickly. Your donation gives us the opportunity to resupply. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lamkin

Social Studies is meant to be experienced and not just passively learned. I love to bring in hands-on learning that incorporates creativity, art, and experience. Every time I assign a research paper, I also assign a creation to accompany it--whether it is an artifact or a board game. My high school students often miss the opportunity to build, design, and create and engagement is increased when we do. We will make 3-d models, dioramas, interactive pieces and use photography. The students love to build and create and, with these supplies, they will have the opportunity.
