Hands-On Centers Making a Difference!
Funded Jan 27, 2017My students are able to deepen their understanding of many concepts by using these hands on learning games. I can see a difference when they are excited about using the ink pads to stamp out sight words, addition problems and so many other skills. The math centers are constantly being used and the students ask every day to please use the games that help them learn the addition process. My students with disabilities are able to connect reading skills by using the magnetic pictures and letters to create words using the beginning, ending, and middles sounds. Learning is so much fun now! A parent just told me the other day, "my child cries Saturdays because there is no school." This melted my heart! Thank you so much for making this possible.”

Flexible Seating
Funded May 10, 2016Our new carpet welcomed the kids back to school on a Monday morning! They were so excited and the first thing they did was walked the alphabet! They hopped in such a giddy way from one letter to the next chanting the letters on the rug. They love to use the letters naming their spots to sit and we often use the letters with alphabet games every day! It has helped increase identifying letters and now we are playing games identifying sounds! We will continue to use the rug for many more of our foundational skills! How much fun is it to toss a bean bag to a letter that begins or ends with the letter on the rug?
Parents, teachers, and guests in our room have often commented how well the rug cheers up and makes the room more inviting! The rug allows the students to sit or lay when learning lessons and reading! Thank you to those that made our room so vibrant through your donations!
Our next project we are currently working on is raising enough money for 2 iPads to use within the classroom. My students would definitely benefit from the touch screen and the updated technology that exists in other classrooms. It would be very appreciated if within your hearts you would donate once again to a project from our class!”
