  • Keeping Students Safe in the Counselor's Office

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for funding my project. Safety is a huge thing in schools these days. It is unfortunate that we have to even consider purchasing equipment like this. I want to say I appreciate your willingness to see beyond what we use to think of the school environment. The parties that come into my office will feel safe knowing that in a crisis, we have a plan that should provide extra security. I work with young children whom have not experienced crisis situations. I want them to know the importance of being prepared for unlikely situations.

Thank you for your generosity and kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Glendening

  • External Hard Drive to Save Work

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

The addition of this wireless portable hard drive has made it possible for multiple users to access and store data onto the HD. Previously, I had a portable HD that was USB connected. The drive had to be mounted and dismounted while being moved between each contributor to the process. I use this with my SST meetings. I may have as many as three parties entering documents. We are able to work at the same time.

Additionally, I am able to have multiple students save sample work products during class. All this can be accomplished without have to connect to the laptop they are working on.

This device has certainly made my job easier and improved the work flow of documents.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Glendening

A typical day consists of individual counseling sessions, group counseling sessions and classroom guidance lessons. I love working with students to address academic, personal/social and career development needs! I work at an elementary and middle school with approximately 600 students in grades PreK - 8. I am lucky to work with every student in my school through individual counseling sessions, group counseling sessions and classroom guidance lessons. My students are bright and energetic. Many come from single-parent homes and military families. My students also require support services, including, but not limited to school counseling services, school-based clinician services, speech language services, educational support team services, 504 services, and special education services.
