• Ignite Curiosity in Reading with Scholastic News

  The Scholastic News weekly magazines (grade level nonfiction news articles) are a big hit with my students! My class loves to read the articles, which prompt dynamic class discussions about what we read - from opinions on current events, social studies and science to discussing predictions of what is coming next. The Scholastic News weekly magazines also lead to really great conversations about real-world issues that Grade 3 students often deal with.

  Scholastic News is a standards-aligned, flexible print and digital teaching tool. Each fascinating issue comes with carefully crafted videos, Teacher's Guides, activity sheets and learning games that launch powerful skill-building lessons.

• Help Us Code Programs That Are Rad with 1 iPad

  Wow! Thank you so very much for your kindness and generosity! This is such terrific news on a day off in honor and in memory of MLK. We are actually in the process of practicing creating basic algorithms with pencil and paper. Our next step is to drag and drop visual basic coding blocks in coding apps for students.

  So the iPad will arrive just in time for the coding in an app process. The students will be so very excited to hear the news. I am sure that this will get them more engaged in improving their algorithms, as well. Your contribution really means so much to my students and I and we thank you for you donations. • Help Us Code Algorithms That Are Ironclad with 1 iPad

  I are so truly grateful for this wonderful gift! My students will be surprised to see that we now have an iPad to help us learn. It is amazing to have access to technology that we can use to create algorithms for coding and robotics. This very generous gift will make our lives much more enriched and give us so much more time for higher level thinking and learning in computer science. We will use the iPad to access educational apps, as well as, websites such as Tynker and Scratch. Thank you again.”

• Skyrocket into Second Grade with New Guided Reading Books

  My students loved the new books! The variety of titles sparked new interests and built excitement in reading.

  Your kindness and donation fostered a true love of reading within our students, by increasing their choices in books and allow them to find their own reading identities in different genres.

  As with any skill, the more the students read, the better they are at it, leading to improved reading ability and greater achievement in other content areas.
