  • Creating an Icon

    Funded Dec 8, 2022

Thank you for your help in securing funds for this project. Because of help from you, we are able to take our classes to the next level and enhance the experience within education. I know that this project is going to lead to great things with the students and will teach them skills that they can use far beyond their days in class.”

  • Gaining the Mental Edge on the Opposition

    Funded Jan 1, 2022

The books we acquired through this project are in the process of taking our athletes' games to the next level. It is one thing to play the game, and an entirely different thing to be able to think the game. With these books, I have seen mental growth in the athletes in regards to their approach to the game, as well as their lives.

While not every athlete wants to read in their free time, these books are broken up into small chunks so an athlete can complete a chapter in as little as two pages, or read as much as they want. Thank you for your support and help with this project.”

  • Keeping Them Hydrated and Sanitary

    Funded Sep 9, 2021

The addition of having personal water bottles made hydrating easier than ever. The ability to have water handy and also be able to have something that belongs to them was an added bonus to a difficult situation. Extra water bottles were handed out to anyone that needed them, and there are still extras left to be able to provide to any other individuals that can use them.

Being able to see the athletes carry them around school with our logo on the side also gave a great sense of pride, while also being something that was useful. We are very appreciative of your support!”

  • Dribbling to Advance

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

This project has helped my athletes become better dribblers, which has increased their ability to maintain their possession of the ball. At first, they were a bit skeptical when they saw the materials because they look a little odd, but after learning how to use them correctly, it changed our approach to our dribbling sessions during practice.

We currently use them during practice, but we plan on using them during individual training sessions as well. We greatly appreciate your support in this endeavor and feel fortunate to have a supportive community behind us.”

  • Reaching the Next Level

    Funded Jan 15, 2021

Thank you very much for your help with purchasing a new vertical jump tester. Already, the results have proven to be incredible. On the first day of set up, we were able to accurately measure vertical jumps and saw improvement immediately. Being able to visualize how much more was needed to get to the next level was all that it took to get athletes genuinely interested in improving.

With the new tester, we have been able to test the records of individuals with current marks and begin to see improvement among them. Additionally, it has given our younger athletes something to strive for as they see their older counterparts being successful. We truly appreciate all of your help with funding this project and are encouraged by the results we have been seeing.”

  • Training Now to Succeed Later

    Funded May 31, 2019

We appreciate your help in purchasing new training equipment for our athletes. Over the Summer we were able to put them to use by unveiling the practice dummies for some drills and using them as an additional defender. The athletes were happy to see a new challenge to try and overcome as well as provide a refreshing new take on the drills.

When all the boxes showed up, kids kept asking about what was in them and when they would get to see all the new items. The dribble goggles, heavy basketball and practice dummies were a hit for them and they almost immediately wanted to put them to use, but we weren't quite in season for that yet.

Moving forward we are going to continue to push the limits of our training and continue to add cutting edge gear for the purpose of maximizing our athletes potential. Be on the look out for our next project and thank you so much for everything you have done and continue to do for our athletes. Go Viks!!”

  • Dribble, Drive, Pass, Shoot, Repeat

    Funded May 30, 2019

Thank you very much for contributing to our project. With your help, we were able so secure funding for 12 new basketballs, allowing us to replace ones that had seen better days. The athletes were ecstatic to have new basketballs to break in and really enjoyed having brand new equipment to use.

I had told them we were getting new basketballs, so they were excited to see the boxes when they showed up. Almost immediately they got them open so they could see them. There is something about a new basketball with fresh grip and that fresh basketball smell that really enhances the environment and gets them excited to play basketball.

Moving forward we are going to continue to push the limits of our training and continue to add cutting edge gear for the purpose of maximizing our athletes potential. Be on the look out for our next project and thank you so much for everything you have done and continue to do for our athletes. Go Viks!!”

  • Taking Flight in Track and Field

    Funded Sep 25, 2019

Right away, my athletes were excited that a new javelin showed up. It arrived in the office and you could already feel the buzz around the program that new equipment showed up. I had a dozen or so throwers come by and let me know that a some new piece of equipment had shown up.

When we took the javelin out of the packaging, it caught the light just right and had a bit of a shine to it. You could tell right away that the kids were excited to take it out and almost immediately had it out on the track.

Thank you so much for your contributions and help in funding this project.”

  • Creating New Courses

    Funded Sep 8, 2018

Thank you so much for your contributions. With it our students were able to take on a new activity and found it to be a lot of fun. They were in bags when the nets came out of the boxes and repeatedly throughout the day, students would ask what was in the bags. They were quite large so naturally I had all sorts of answers. When I finally showed them, they were confused, but excited at the possibility of new equipment.

Students were able to create challenging disk golf courses and learn how to score in golf/disk golf. There were some issues at first because for some of them, they had never experience anything like this before. After working out some kinks, students began to have a blast and would challenge each other on the course from one hole to the next and also with their course designs.

The next step for our students and program is to continue to push the envelope on making PE fun and enjoyable with content that is more than just team sports and traditional roll the ball out style. Additional nets will be in the works at some point in the hopes to create a full 18 hole course around the school that can be enjoyed by more than just PE class. Disks made for disk golf are also in the future. Thank you so much for your contributions!”

  • Getting Distance in the Throwing Events

    Funded Jul 26, 2018

Because of your contributions, we were able to acquire some new shots, discs and javs for our athletes to use. We used them frequently during practice and meets throughout the season and really noticed a difference from our old equipment. As soon as they were unboxed, the kids wanted to take them everywhere.

With new equipment, kids were able to set new PR's and seemed much more confident in their events. While the new stuff was shiny for a little while, I believe it was the security in the implements that the students noticed right away and therefore trusted the equipment.

We appreciate your contributions very much. With your help, we have started to turn around what Mazama Track and Field looks like and look forward to continuing that growth. Next up we will begin replacing some of the other implements and things around the Track. Thank you for everything!”

We are looking to acquire new disk golf goals in order to create a disk golf course at the high school. Specifically, we would like goals/holes that are able to be moved and adjusted so the possibilities for course design are endless. This idea reaches multiple students on multiple levels of education. The first idea is that students will get experience participating in disk golf. It will allow them to discover how to throw a disk for a desired result, but also teach them how to write down the score for the event. Additionally, acquiring the disk golf goals/holes will reach the students who will want to design the course(s) and put their ideas to life. This extends beyond purely Physical Education and reaches more than just the students who are good at throwing a disk.
