  • "So You Say You Want a Revolution?"

    Funded Mar 2, 2020

Thanks you for donating enough money to fulfill this project and so quickly too! Now my students will have more resources to conduct their research in the years to come in our Revolutionary War unit of study where children are making the shift from "learning to read" to "reading to learn".

These resources are full of rich content at various reading levels/difficulties to help students access this complicated content.

Because of you these students will have more access to our country's history!

    Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Rund

    Funded Mar 4, 2020

Wow! This is amazing! I cannot believe how generous people can be. Giving my students the gift of complete book series is such a blessing! My students will always be grateful along with me!

With people like you in the world we will have a great future! I am shocked at how fast this was able to come together!”

  • Let There Be Color Printing!

    Funded Sep 25, 2018

There has been a tremendous impact on our classroom. Color printing has brightened up our classroom and students are learning more through pictures and images. Additionally students have access to color images instead of black and white copies.

In our classroom we can now use our color printer for so many different causes. We can print articles with color pictures now, we can make colorful charts that are color coded for students. Students with disabilities can now understand what they are looking at! Another way color printing has helped students with disabilities is by helping them understand different levels of frustration and color coding that really brings these complex abstract concepts to light.

Students are excited to print their final projects in color and have expressed gratitude to the donors for making this possible in our title 1 school that at times seems under-funded. Thank you to all the donors that contribute to schools that are in need. We all hope that you continue to donate to schools.”

  • Magazines and Non-Fiction Books to Expand Horizons

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thanks so much for your generous donations. You have contributed to the education of countless students who will pass through this grade over the years to come. These students now have more resources to conduct research projects. I will never forget the time when a 5th grader didn't know what an "ax" was and I wished at that moment I had more resources to teach from. Being in inner city you loose track of how little these students are exposed to. Although we will always feel like we need more. The books and magazines you have contributed will give students access to current scientific discoveries and newly discovered animals you cannot find in older books.

    You guys are the best!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Rund

  • Stock the Students' School Store with Fun Pens and Pencils

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for the unbelievably generous donation. When I showed my class the new items for the school store they were so excited for the opportunity to spend their hard earned scholar dollars on these cool new items. They have expressed genuine excitement about spending their money. The entire school was shocked to see not only the cool new items for the school store but the sheer volume of materials. These items are new motivation for the children of this school to not only continue their good behaviors but to also encourage good behavior in the future. The children in these pictures are only a small percentage of the actual students being impacted by your donation.

    Thanks again!”

  • Great Books for Amazing Kids!

    Funded Feb 14, 2018

The impact these new books have had on my students is really unbelievable. My students are finally excited to go "book shopping" each Monday morning to gather books that they want to read for the week ahead. These books fit right in with the curriculum we already teach which is great because the kids are interested in their own learning.

One of the most important factors of the impact of the books you gave us is the students' excitement to go "Book Shopping." Each Monday morning, students come into school with their "Just Right Book Baggie" full of books at exactly each students' level. They spend the week reading these books during reading time in school, for homework, and during any downtime at school, even while waiting for the bathroom. They make their way through the books in their Baggie and practice reading and rereading to gain fluency. Books are selected from their specific leveled book bin. Each level has a very limited supply of books, in some classrooms there are less than 10 books at some of the levels because a classroom library is limited to the normal range of books for that grade. For example a 3rd grade class might only have levels J-T and not have books at A-I and U-Z because a typical 3rd grader should enter 3rd grade at an L or M and should exit 3rd grade at a level P or Q. As a buffer we have 3 or 4 additional levels in either direction from the norm to accommodate outliers. However the farther away from the general 3rd grade range the fewer the books per level.

Now, these students become excited when they get new books! The students have choices between fiction and nonfiction books which is a fantastic opportunity for students to push their background knowledge of the world and expand their imaginations. We are looking forward to getting even more books for other levels for our classroom as well. We are so thankful for these generous donations. You're really supporting the education of students by giving here and there when you can. We hope that you continue to give to more children in more classrooms who will appreciate your generosity as much as we have!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Rund

Attaining more books for our library will be extremely beneficial to the learning processes of our student. Students will be able to choose these books that they are interested in at their particular reading level. Reading a book you are interested in increases your motivation to read. With more books to fill our library, our students will have more opportunities to practice their skills. Reading books at your particular reading level makes reading enjoyable and avoids frustration. When students have more books they are interested in and are challenging enough without frustrating them, they can excel in reading! I would love to give my students this opportunity.
