My 2nd grade class is a wonderful group of children from many different backgrounds who live and learn in the city of Boston. I teach a 2nd grade inclusion, which means we have students with disabilities learning alongside their non-disabled peers in general education. More than half of our class is made up of students who are from non-English speaking homes; these children are in the process of learning English themselves. 78% of our student population is considered low income. The items requested will help ensure that my students have many strategies and accommodations for reading, hearing, seeing, and learning the skills and content they need in order to succeed. As an educator, I know what we do in the classroom makes a huge difference in our students' lives, and these materials are critical for my students' success.
