  • Math Isn't All Fun and Games, or Is It?

    Thank you so much for your generous donations. I have already started using these items as much as possible in the classroom, and the students love them. My students are so excited to come, explore, and learn thanks to these wonderful supplies.

    When I introduced these items for our center time, the students were absolutely thrilled. They love matching the math puzzle pieces and are intrigued by the new types of dominos. Since the original domino set I intended to receive was unavailable, I selected the domino games by hand and then also added one CVC domino set, which has been great for practicing their reading fluency as well. Additionally, we were able to use these domino sets for our inquiry unit on forces (pushes and pulls), so we could practice setting up chain reactions with them. I am so grateful to all of you for helping our students with their mathematic learning skills!

    Our next step for our classroom is to bring more letter and number study manipulatives to our classroom. I am so impressed by the students and families in my classroom, and I strive to bring them the best education I can. This could not be possible without you, so I once again thank you for your kind heart and amazing soul.”

  • Working Out Our Fingers to Match Our Hardworking Minds

    Thank you so much for your generous donations. I have already started using these items as much as possible in the classroom, and the students love them. My students are so excited to come, explore, and learn thanks to these wonderful supplies.

    Every morning, we do literacy centers. During literacy centers, I have different stations set up with different activities, and one of them is a fine motor strength based center. The Lakeshore Feeding Fine Motor Game set and the I Spy have been a huge hit with the students. They love feeding the animals and finding the different items, all while using tongs to strengthen their finger muscles. I cannot thank you enough for helping make our classroom an engaging space for learning.

    Our next step for our classroom is to gain more math tools to help my young students shine. We are focusing on more math games to play during our math centers. I am so impressed by the students and families in my classroom, and I strive to bring them the best education I can.   • Bringing Reading Accessibility to the Classroom With Yoto

    Thank you so much for your generous donations. I have already incorporated our Yoto into our classroom routine, and the students love it. My students are so excited to come, explore, and learn thanks to your generosity and the magic of Donors Choose.

    Every afternoon, we have Daily 5. During Daily 5, students have the opportunity to choose from 5 different activities to work on independently, so that teachers can work with students in small groups and attend more directly to individual needs. I have been using the Yoto during for independent student centers, and it is a hit! Students love how simple to use the Yoto is, and so do I. The Yoto was extremely easy to incorporate into our Daily 5 routine, and I allow the students to listen to it solo with headphones, or in pairs quietly in a secluded area. The Yoto has also been a great attention catcher for when we have a couple of minutes before lunch, as I can just throw on a story and all of the students are excited to sit and listen. I am so grateful to all of you for helping our students with their literacy skills!
