Teach an Old Dog New Tricks With New PD Books
Funded May 10, 2023Thank you so much for donating these amazing professional development books to add to my classroom library.
I enjoyed reading each and every one over summer break and even had the opportunity
to share them with some of my colleagues.
I plan to use the knowledge I've gained from each book to strengthen my classroom instruction, create a more diverse classroom library, and encourage a true love of reading amongst my students.
Lastly, I plan to host a workshop, alongside a colleague, in a few weeks where we will teach other teachers about reading and writing instruction.
Thank you again!”

Funded May 18, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donations to help us organize our oasis. Last year's students got to unpack the boxes and set out our new plastic storage bins. They also got to dabble with using the sit spots to mark where we sit.
New students will be arriving in the classroom in just a few short weeks. I can't wait to share our new organizational systems with them as they begin to call their new classroom home.
Thank you again for thinking of our classroom and helping organize our oasis!”

Funded Jan 26, 2023Thank you so much for donating classroom supplies and goodies to sell in our classroom store. Students have been so busy earning money and they are ready to shop for some new items.
Students especially loved the little wallets and coin purses. They were a huge hit. Students were excited to hold their money and keep it organized with these new items.
I appreciate all you have done for our classroom. Thank you for helping keep our classroom economy alive. We couldn't do it without you! You are an angel!”

Classroom Supply Restock
Funded Dec 4, 2022Thank you so much for all the amazing supplies. Students were eager to use them to restock our supply bins at the side of each table.
These markers, glue sticks, and crayons are just what we need to power through the rest of the school year. Missing and broken supplies distract from our lessons. These supplies keep us focused and engaged.
Thank you so much for thinking of us. Your generous donations keep our classroom running smoothly. You are an angel to our students and class. Thank you again!”

Funded Aug 20, 2022Students have been enjoying their individual copies of Scholastic News so much. They look forward to getting a new edition each and every week.
We have been learning about current events, while looking for text features, discussing text structures, and determining the main idea and details of different articles.
Students have enjoyed reading and discussing these independently, in pairs, during small reading groups, and as a whole class.
Thank you for helping integrate social studies, science, and language arts each and every week!”

Building Thinking Classrooms with Whiteboards
Funded Aug 31, 2022Thank you so much for these fabulous double sided, free-standing whiteboards. They are simply AMAZING. They are portable so we can move them around the room. We station them by the windows to create a whole class sized circle if the whole class is using whiteboards at the same time. We move them to the horseshoe table during small group lessons. We can bring them to the carpet during math workshop. They are magnetic so they can hold our letter tiles for phonics based lessons. We have used them across all content areas. They have saved loads of paper and have provided a great way for students to show their work when collaborating with peers. Thank you!!!”

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Funded Nov 8, 2022Students cheered when our individual copies of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, by Roald Dahl, arrived. Each student had their own copy to read along as we read this amazing story. It was so great that students could read and reread with the class, with their peers, and on their own. They used their individual copies to look back in the book and find text evidence to support their answers to questions about the story. Having this individual copies really helped keep all students engaged in reading a grade appropriate text. Thank you so much for helping us make this happen!”

Willy Wonka Day
Funded Jun 8, 2022Thank you so much for helping make our Willy Wonka Day a huge success. Students had a blast reading the book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, by Roald Dahl. We played lots of games and completed book themed activities as we read.
At the end of our book we celebrated with an all day Willy Wonka event. Students played life sized candy land and fished in a chocolate river for multiplication problems. They looked for the good nuts, created visuals of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Room, and made maps of the factory using their knowledge of area and perimeter. We decorated the room and dressed up for the day.
Thank you for helping our dream of having a Willy Wonka Day come alive!”

Building Fact Fluency Toolkit
Funded Jul 7, 2022We have been using our math fact fluency kit throughout the beginning of the school year and students are loving it. There two favorite activities are the lesson strings and the math fact games. The lesson strings relate math to everyday objects and activities and include fun little video clips and questions. The math fact games are great at building their multiplication facts and students love working with teammates. The games help build teamwork and collaboration skills in a fun and educational way.”

Restock Our Class Store
Funded May 17, 2022How exciting to have one last restock to our class store before the end of the school year. Students have truly loved earning money throughout the school day for being respectful, responsible, and safe. They have learned so much about economics and mathematics throughout this hands-on, real world simulation. The prizes have motivated them in a way that I haven't quite seen before. Thank you so much for thinking of us and keeping our store shelves stocked! You are angels to our fourth grade students!”
