  • Chairs Needed for New Classroom

    Funded Mar 21, 2023

Thank you again for purchasing these chairs for us. These new chairs are providing students with their own comfortable, personal space to learn within the classroom. These new chairs are helping students not get distracted by uncomfortable, squeaky, and broken chairs. My English Language Learners feel more comfortable and are really succeeding. Simple things like chairs make them feel appreciated and make the best learning experience possible. Thanks so much, we appreciate you and everything you have done for our school.”

  • 2-Way Translation Earbuds for EL's

    Funded Dec 31, 2022

Timekettle earbuds are the first to offer simultaneous translation! I can speak and hear other children's translations at the same time. I do not have to wait and use Google translate to translate the work and lesson, I can speak in real time and the students understand. Imagine being able to understand your teacher while she is teaching the class in English? This is a big accomplishment since I feel like the students get work done quicker. Supporting classroom learning with real-time translation has made a difference. This is a great addition for any teacher who has bilingual students who have just come to America. These children have truly benefitted from being exposed to the English language through this type of technology. Thank you for all you have done.”

  • Supplies For ESL Students

    Funded Jan 26, 2023

Many of my students need to practice skills such as handwriting, phonics, and sight word recognition. We also have been working on creating sentences and even paragraphs with a beginning, middle and end. The copybooks have been a great addition to the classroom and the students have new homework copybooks now. We have used the markers for making anchor charts with the concepts the students are learning. Practice makes perfect and with these colorful supplies the students are really understanding. The keyboard stickers have been a success as well too. The Russian letter keyboard has been placed on student's chromebooks, who need to see the Russian and English alphabet to translate. All of these supplies have been a wonderful help.”

  • Seating Needed for EL Leaners!

    Funded Jan 18, 2023

What is a flexible seating classroom? Flexible seating classrooms offer students the opportunity to sit where they choose. An ideal flexible seating classroom would offer several different seating options for students to choose from. A few kinds of flexible seating are movement seating and these chairs have allowed the students I support to sit in comfortable chairs when I am doing small groups. We are practicing the English Language and gaining so much of it. This has made our small group very successful. Thank you for supporting us.”

  • Printer Needed for EL's

    Funded Jan 27, 2023

Thank you again for funding this project. I travel between classrooms and this printer has been such a life- saver. My EL students always have the materials they need, even when I am in a different classroom since I am able to print what is needed.

I have differentiated instructions thus needing multiple printed hand- outs and activity sheets. My students are able to be successful in all the work I am doing with them, especially not speaking the English Language. Thanks for all your help and believing in our future generation.”

  • iPad for EL Learners!

    Funded Jan 26, 2023

This iPad is a dream comes true! This classroom iPad will support my students in all subject areas during intervention small groups everyday. These students will be participating in strategic and targeted lessons and the iPad will be an excellent supplement to their activities. My EL students are using the iPad daily to translate grade level text to their own language so that they can understand what everyone else is reading. This has really made a different for those students who do not understand the English language. Thank you for supporting my classroom and allowing these students to soar.”

  • Author's Chair Needed

    Funded Jan 26, 2023

Thank you again for purchasing this new printer. This printer made our daily activities more fun and visually appealing. Planning and preparing activities has become more efficient. This printer project has helped current students and many students in the years to come. Other teachers also like to use the printer to make educational resources to display in their classrooms. We use the printer to make displays and instructional posters for use in the classroom. Let's just say, our printer gets a lot of use. Thank you for making this possible!”

  • Being Bilingual!

    Funded Dec 6, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to my project. You have helped me give my ESL students snacks to complement our rewards systems. We have been taking our state wide EL test and the students have been rewarded with these wonderful treats and it kept them on the task at hand. The sequence cards have made such a difference for this student population. We look at each card and talk about it so the students are practicing their English. This allows my non-speakers to try to speak as well. It gives them a chance to talk about what words they know in English and we create sentences from the words they already know. This has been a great year so far! Thank you for helping this become possible.”

  • Reading to Become Knowl-edge-a-ble

    Funded Oct 31, 2022

Thank you for this amazing book. I have used so many new strategies in this book to help my long-term ELLs, students who have attended U.S. schools for much or all of their education but have not yet mastered the language of school. These students are learning how to improve their writing skills with the new strategies they have learned. I myself can master the skills that I have not learned yet to give these students this support. EL students always need extra support in the four domains they are going to master and with teaching English learners the key components of language and literacy: phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, spelling, and writing skills they will all succeed. I have also used new technology to adapt and enhance instruction for English learners, which has helped these students gain new access to the language. Thank you again for supporting my students and making them successful.”

  • ESL Materials Needed

    Funded May 3, 2022

The wonderful students, who walk through my doors, come from all walks of life. You have helped them so much and they are so grateful. My students have journeyed from other countries and have found the way to my ESL classroom door. Thanks to you I was able to equip them with resources that will help them learn the language and adapt quickly. I did not have any dictionaries to help translate, since we have been using Google Translator on the school computers. Some of my students are now able to use the new dictionaries with the upcoming PSSA's. The Russian Keyboard Stickers have also helped with learning the English language and those students are very thankful. Thank you for your continued support for EL Students!”

I teach second grade in a very low income school where all the children receive free lunches. We are a Title One school and most of the children are raised by grandparents or live in foster homes. All these students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Over 99% of the student body is eligible for free lunch and over 99% receive public assistance. These factors come together and place our children at a huge disadvantage, but we are committed to providing these students with a rigorous academic program.
