• Coloring For Calmness!

  My 2nd graders were so excited when the packages arrived. We opened them up and admired all of the colorful covers of the coloring books and supplies. I talked with them about how we would use them as a sensory break during the day.

  They have all enjoyed using them this year and we will use them year after year. It was amazing to see how taking a few minutes to color and focus on the picture helped reset some students' emotions. It helped them relax and gave their minds a break from the rigor of the day.

• Books Are An Endless Gift

  When the packages were delivered to our classroom my students were so thrilled. We opened them right away. They love being read to and listening to stories. We looked at all of the titles and discussed each book and made predictions about what they would be about.

  We have enjoyed reading the books together and have had great discussions about the characters. There have been many lessons that we can learn from the characters. My second graders have been rereading the books and finding more interesting connections. They love the stories and are so grateful for your donation towards our classroom library. • Headphone Happiness!

  When we received the boxes and opened our new headphones they were all so thrilled. The headphones we have been using were falling apart and a lot of students could only hear out of one ear. Now with our new headphones they are all working consistently and is making their learning on the computer easier and more productive. It has helped save me time as their teacher because I don't have to spend time trying to make an older pair of headphones work. They are working so well and all of my students are taking such good care of them.

• Back to School Books!

  When our packages arrived my students were so thrilled. We opened them right away and had some fun discussions. We made predictions about what we thought the books were going to be about.

  We have read them and found connections with the amazing characters. My 2nd graders like to read them over and over again too. These read alouds have been an amazing addition to our library. • Fun With Phonics!

  Thank you so much for your donation for the items that made our reading groups a lot more fun and engaging. My second graders loved using the interactive tablets for their phonics lessons and activities. They are colorful and fun, and a nice change from using whiteboards.

• Designing with 3D Doodling Pens

  Thank you all so much for your donation to help us receive these 3D doodling pens. My second graders were so excited to learn how to use the pens and to get started creating their first project.

  It has been a fun learning process from some of them because they want it to turn out so perfect but have learned that it's okay to make a mistake and then try creating it a different way. They are resilient little learners that are curious about how things work.

• Making Math and Science Fun!

  My 2nd graders were thrilled when we opened the boxes and they saw the books, new math games, and Magna Tiles. They have been building habitats for the arctic animals this month and we will continue into January.

  They have the best conversations as they work together in small groups. I hear them talking about a food source, how to design the animals' shelter, and they are just having fun pretending and playing with the Magna Tile animals. Giving them time to socialize and play freely is so important in building connections and for their communication skills. They love the math and science items! Thank you for sparking their imagination and for donating to this project.”

• Back to School Celebration!

  Thank you so much for your generous donation to this project. The gel pens are adorable and I use them as a birthday gift for each of my students. I hand write a birthday card and add the gel pen to the envelope.

  They feel so special on their day when they come in our classroom and there is a card for them on their desk. It has made them very happy and I love seeing them use their special pen during class.

  The read aloud books are fun and have prompted many class discussions about celebrations. We have used some of the other items for phonics lessons and art projects. With the support from donors like you, I am able to create memories and learning experiences for my sweet second graders this year and for years to come. Thank you again for your support!”

  All of the materials like the play-doh and foam make our phonics activities more fun and are a great multi-sensory task.
