I teach 25 wonderful Kindergartners at Garfield Elementary School in Brainerd, MN! Our school has over 50% free and reduced lunch. I have many children in my class that do not have opportunities at home to get some of those "extra" real-life experiences. This includes playing with manipulatives that teach. I hope to raise enough money to provide simple manipulatives for the children to make/create/explore in the classroom and have conversations with each other and me about what they've made. Conversation is a skill that many early learners are lacking. I think this "Creativity Time" will be a wonderful opportunity for children to experience both creativity and conversation!
