Wow! Is That Real?
Funded Feb 20, 2020I am so sorry this thank you note has finally gotten to you. We were waiting to see if we still could go to the Wonders of Wildlife to learn about all those wonderful animals Our original trip was canceled because of COVID.
It was hard to replace a field trip but I found some 3D viewers from Lakeshore that the children can view animals such as exotic birds, wild animals, insects, spiders, sea life, and life cycles. My students love to look at the pictures through the viewers. They are so realistic.
Since we might have to do distance learning this year I bought some magnetic letters, take-home pouches to put supplies and papers in, and some magnetic dry erase boards. We have used our dry erase marker board already. They work and erase great.
I also was able to get some large timers in 5, 10, 15, and 30 minutes increments to help keep us on task. The children are enjoying using them to see how much time we have left or to see how long until the next subject.
We love our donors. My students and classroom have benefited so much through your thoughtfulness.”

Let's Read Together!
Funded May 5, 2020We are very appreciative of your support for our kindergarten classroom. My students are always excited when we get a new package in the mail. When they opened the box and saw the binders they were happy because they knew we really needed some new ones.
My new kindergarten students have been using our new reading binder every day since we have started school this past August. Each student is able to personally touch and say each letter as we chant the Alphabet. We also use it when we count to 100 by ones and tens. All of our sight word poems are housed in our binder also. These binders are being well used already. It has been wonderful not having to keep taping the binders together this year.
Thanks again. We love our donors. My students have and will greatly benefit from the use of these binders.”

Funded Oct 21, 2019Thank you so much for our new Lakeshore carpet. We love it. It is so bright and vibrant.
It arrived earlier than expected so we unrolled it and put it in its place. The children were excited to get it to where it belonged.
It has been a blessing during carpet time because everyone has their own space and it is easy to keep everyone in straight rows and on task.
It has given more soft areas for our center time and we also have room for almost all of my students to lay down for naps on it. I am thankful they have a clean rug to lay on.
Thanks again. We love our donors.”

Learning With Comfort
Funded Aug 12, 2019My students were excited to get some more soft pillows. I didn't have enough pillows for each of my students this school year but now everyone has one. We don't have to worry about spreading germs and head lice. Yeah!!!. In the first quarter of school, I had ten of my students here every day.
Each student stores their pillow in their cubby and is able to go and get theirs whenever he/she wants to use it. Kindergarteners sit on the floor a lot so the extra cushion fills good to many of them. They also like to use them during nap time.
I love that these pillows can be washed if needed and so far they are still in good in shape.
The storage containers for our store also have been very beneficial. Thank you for helping us out.”

Funded Jul 14, 2019Wow! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support of my classroom, students, and me. My students wouldn't have the chance to buy all the cool items that your donations helped buy.
My kindergarten students are always asking if today is the day they get to go to the classroom store. My goal is for my students to try and save their money for some of the more exciting items that cost more but only a few are savers so far this year. One of my little boys was so excited when he finally had enough money to buy the notebook he had saved up to get. I am hoping his example will encourage the other students to save and not spend their earning on small cheap items.
It is so rewarding to see their smiles on their faces after they purchase from the store. Thanks again.”

Funded May 4, 2019My students were so excited when they opened up their new LEGO sets. They could hardly wait to play with them. They have built so many creative buildings, vehicles, and other structures. Several of the students like being able to build using the pictorial instructions but others are just as creative using their own ideas to build their creations.
I can say that there hasn't been a school day that these LEGOS weren't in use. My girls and my boys both love them. My students have benefited thanks to donors like you that appreciate how kids learn best. My students love their new LEGOs.”

Funded Mar 8, 2019My students loved exploring with the bubbles that we received due to your generous donation our classroom. We discussed what bubbles could and couldn't do and then got some hand-on experiences with them. Making big and bigger bubbles was exciting for them. And to see if the bubbles would stick on a person or pop right away was intriguing to them. They also were fascinated when they caught bubbles and then put their bubble together to make a bigger bubble. We so appreciate all of our donors. Thanks for giving my students a great hands-on experience.”

Funded May 13, 2019My students are excited about earning money to use in our classroom store. Each of them picked their own color lid to use on their individual piggy bank. We have shopped once already this year. They all wanted to spend their money except one who is going to save his money for a more expensive item. I am hoping that all of my students will to become savers and see their money grow. We will be exchanging our pennies for nickels, dimes, and quarter as they save their money. I am hoping the children will gain coin identification by the end of the year. My students are also using our new rekenreks to help us count. Thanks so much for providing for my school, classroom, and students. We love our donors.”

Funded Feb 28, 2019Many thanks to The DonorsChoose.org Community and you 10 donors who helped make this project happen. My students were thrilled with all of their new books and cordless mice.
This year we started AR which tests children's comprehension of the story they read in our school. At the beginning of the year, my students were not ready to begin testing on books they could read but when they were ready I didn't have many books that had tests on for our AR program. With the books you gave us, we now have several books that can be read and tested on. They get excited to see their flower grow after they take a test.
The cordless mice also work great with our laptop computers. It is easier for them to use our computers without tangled cords.”

Funded Mar 8, 2019Many thanks to The DonorsChoose.org Community and you 11 donors who helped make this project happen. My students have benefited so much from these Snap Cards. We use them every day during RTI time.
The children also like to be the "teacher" and flash their friends the sight word Snap cards. The pictures and storyline that goes with each card are helpful for my struggling students to remember the words.
I now have enough cards that I can hang up one set on my students' lockers so they can see them at all times and use them during our writing time.”
