  • Hokki Active Stools Rock! We Like to Move it!

    Funded Aug 5, 2017

Thanks to your help, we were able to get more Hokki stools for our classroom. They have already been a big hit in our room in the short amount of time we've had them. The students absolutely love them! These stools are designed with a convex base so students can move around while they are sitting down. This movement provides both physical and mental benefits to the the students. While the students are moving, they are more focused on their work. Students can sway and wiggle while sitting on these stools and not disrupt the other students. This is JUST what we needed the 2nd Nine Weeks of our school year. Being in motion allows the brain to be engaged! Exercise grows brain cells!

This project would not have been possible without your generosity. Please enjoy the pictures from the students to express our gratitude. We are very thankful that you have helped make our wishes come true. Thank you again for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Burkhart

  • Get on the Ball! Exercise Grows Brain Cells!

    Funded Oct 27, 2014

Thanks to your help, our dream has become a REALITY! I cannot begin to tell how excited we are about this! Thanks to your support our class has gone 'CHAIRLESS.' We received our exercise balls to serve as our bouncy seats. The traditional chairs are HISTORY! We are now on the ball and ready to learn as we speak!

Many classrooms around the country are switching out the traditional chair for the "bouncy" chair. There are several advantages to using these exercise balls in our classroom. Exercise balls are helping students focus by increasing blood flow which increases alertness and attention, strengthening their core muscles, promoting positive behavior, and increasing productivity as well as overall learning. The ball seats allow movement without making noise and disturbing others. Being in motion allows the brain to be engaged! Exercise grows brain cells!

This project would not have been possible without your generosity. One of my students quoted the Bible and said, "Give and it shall be given to you." His kind words express our gratitude. We are very thankful that you have helped make our dreams come true. Many students have already raised their reading scores within the short time that we have had the ball seats. We cannot wait to see what the rest of the year brings. Thank you again for your support. Happy Holidays!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Burkhart

  • Hands On! Falling In Love With Learning Right From The Start

    Funded Jan 26, 2013

Wow! This is so exciting! Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. We have used the materials to rhyme words, build words and sentences, recognize letters and sounds, and so much more! The students are so excited to use the items and are enjoying learning in fun and engaging ways! They are on the continued path of learning to become excellent readers thanks to these hands-on materials!

My students would have never been able to have these resources without your help! We truly appreciate it! Thank you so much for believing in our kids and offering them tools to succeed. We are so very grateful for donors like you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Burkhart

Imagine a classroom with little to no behavior issues where students are highly engaged, frequently active, and extremely attentive. A child's ability to pay attention increases when they are given the opportunity to move. Exercise grows brain cells! My students are 6th graders and LOVE to move it while learning! We get up and do activities often, but during direct instruction it is really challenging to stay seated in our uncomfortable chairs. Students in our classroom are active! We have a lot of athletes and our classroom has some students with attention and learning challenges. Our school is a community of learners, where we support each other each day and work together as a team to achieve our goals.
