The materials for this project include the enclosure, bedding, food and some treats that our classroom rabbit will need. In life science, we learn about animals, ecosystems and how humans impact planet Earth. This classroom pet will be a direct relation to our state standards and also help the social emotional needs of our students. This classroom pet will give my students an opporutnity to be responsible for another living thing while they are in the classroom and for those more responsible, they will get to take the rabbit home on weekends and over longer breaks. In my coteaching classroom, I serve a wide variety of students with different developmental needs and the classroom pets will help create an environment where our students are excited to come to learn. These materials will help us keep our classroom pet supplied and healthy.
