Coding Fun with Dash Mechanical Arms!
Funded Apr 7, 2025Thank you so much for your donation. As always I am humbled by your generosity, especially with so many great projects asking for support. My students will be over the moon with the robot gripper arms that will be added to our Wonder Robot center. Donors Choose and donors like yourself have enabled me to teach lessons and run afterschool programs that are fun and engaging. Thank you again!”

Funded Sep 23, 2024On behalf of my 4th–6th grade students at Dawes School, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your generous donation to our stop-motion animation project. Your support has truly made a difference in our classroom!
With the variety of LEGO sets I was able to offer, our students had an incredible time building, designing, and letting their imaginations run wild. Watching them collaborate, problem-solve, and create their own unique stories has been an inspiring experience. The excitement on their faces as they worked through the creative process was priceless.
We are now looking forward to the next phase of our project—shooting our pictures to put together a short stop-motion animation. This is a favorite project of many and they will remember it long after leaving my class. Thank you again!”

Funded May 7, 2024We have been using our newly donated headphones since the beginning of the school year. The students were excited to see the computer lab equipped with new headphones as many of our old ones were taped together or only had sound on one side. Many of the computers no longer even had headphones!
The impact on my students' learning has been significant. Before receiving these headphones, it was often a challenge for students to focus on their individual tasks amidst the noise of the classroom. Now, each student can concentrate on their own work, which has led to a more focused and productive learning environment. The headphones have not only helped eliminate distractions but have also fostered a sense of independence, as students can work through their assignments and learning activities at their own pace.
My students are truly grateful for this gift. You have given them the tools to be more successful, and I see the benefits every day in their engagement and enthusiasm. The ability to learn in a way that's quiet and personalized has made a world of difference. On behalf of my students and myself, thank you for your support and belief in the importance of enhancing our classroom.”

Funded May 3, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation. I am so excited to begin our coding unit in January. The students have seen the "bees" charging up and are so excited! We have gotten our feet wet using online coding programs, but it is not the same as seeing something in the real world complete a task that you have programmed it to do.
The Bees are simple and very age-appropriate for my kindergarteners and first graders to use. So far they have only "played" with them on a limited basis, but the excitement in the room was incredible. They loved watching them light up and move around the room. Students had much practice with directional positions (left, right). After the winter break, they will begin using code to make them complete a task, such as moving through a maze.
Thank you again, I know there are many options for charitable giving, so I truly appreciate you choosing my classroom.”

Creative Claymations!
Funded Jun 25, 2020Our students have finally returned to in-person Class. I can not tell you how excited I was to see students in our halls and classrooms. While I have not been able to welcome students back into the computer lab, I have been able to visit classrooms. One lucky class was able to dive into our claymation animation project! The Students had so much fun and learned so much about planning, storyboarding, and stop-motion photography. I can not thank you enough. While we had to wait what seemed liked forever, I can tell you it was well worth the wait. The students were eager learners and it was so good to see them interacting with each other as they talked about and planned their short animations. Your donations helped make that magic happen and I am so very grateful!”

Funded Feb 6, 2019I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the MicroBits. They enabled my students to do more hands on coding, and to see the output of their coding in the real world of their coding designs. The MicroBits helped develop my students computational thinking and problem solving skills. The MicroBits were a great addition to their STEM learning.
Working in groups, the students had fun developing and coding simple games and tricks including their favorite- the "crashy bird" game. Even some of my most reluctant coders got into the "crashy bird" game. They were then able to share Their games with family members at home. One of my students was so excited to show his Mom "how smart he was".
With out Donors Choose and the wonderful donations, we would not be able to do any of the special projects and activities that I discover at tech conferences and professional development. When I see things that I would like to incorporate into my classroom, I turn to Donors choose to help make them a realization. Thank you again for”

Amazing Animations!
Funded Jun 14, 2018Amazing Animations has been my favorite project this year. The students just loved it and are eager to do it again. Currently, our primary students' schedules do not allow enough time for art in their curriculum, therefore being able to combine art and technology was just a win-win situation all the way around. The students learned so much during this project and were able to artistically express themselves. The student animations involved creating a storyline, molding clay, drawing and coloring their backdrop, photographing multiple frames, and collaborating with their peers. They learned to analyze and troubleshoot their problems, and many would even start over because they would discover a "better" way to do things!
The students did a great job and are excited about watching each others' completed animations next time we meet. All of this could not have happened without your generous donations! My students and I are truly grateful. We are very lucky that there are people like you who are willing to help classrooms like ours.”

Capture Our Creativity Part 2
Funded Jan 1, 2018I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity. Your donation will help me bring a photography and digital editing class to my 7th and 8th-grade students at Dawes School. I have been wanting to offer a class where students could combine their creativity with technology skills. Photography and digital editing will be the perfect platform.
I have 32 motivated students that have already signed up for the class beginning in April. Thanks to donors choose and donors like you- I now have a digital editing platform and 8 point-and-shoot cameras to begin the class. I have been afraid that I would not be able to offer this class and did not want to disappoint the kids. They will be so thrilled to learn that it is a go!
I believe that this will be a great addition to our art and technology curriculum. Although I do not know a great deal about photography myself, I am hoping that with a few basic photo principles, my students and I can explore photography together. It will give the students a great platform for expression and hopefully, they will learn some fundamentals if they choose to pursue photography in high school.”
