Meet Botley, a STEM tool that will introduce students to the fascinating and important world of coding! Our third-grade students already love using tech tools in the classroom, but they've never seen anything like this. With Botley, they can begin learning all about coding and actually see the results of their hard work immediately. They can program Botley to move around the classroom, execute commands, follow prompts, and interact with the environment. While students are completely engaged with this exciting learning tool, they will be building problem-solving and coding skills that are becoming increasingly more important in our world. The lessons that Botley will be a part of will lay the foundation for students to understand how coding works. Once students are hooked, they can transfer those skills to online coding programs like Tynker or Code.org. All of these skills have real-world uses and implications. Our students are already so creative and passionate about their learning, and we can give them a chance to grow even more and expand their interests. These same students will be in the programmers of tomorrow, and we want to help them get started today!
