  • Colorful Creations: Building Bonds and Skills Through Bracelet Making

    Funded May 20, 2024

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of my classroom. Thanks to you, my fourth and fifth-grade students had a truly meaningful experience crafting bracelets.

This project not only sparked their creativity, but also gave them an opportunity to connect with their peers on a deeper level. Many students proudly wore their bracelets to represent themselves, while others thoughtfully made bracelets for friends, further fostering a sense of community in our classroom.

Your generosity made this special learning experience possible and we are all deeply appreciative.”

  • Infusing Art in School

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting art in our classrooms and school. The painting supplies were a hit and allowed us to have fun, artistic events within our school community. It is so important to be imaginative and the paint brushes, paint trays, paper towels, and canvas panels allowed the students the opportunity to create and learn how to use these artistic tools with teacher guidance and support.

The students and their families were thrilled to have a piece of artwork to display in their home. Thank you for your generosity.”

  • Entertainment for Indoor Recess

    Funded Dec 31, 2021

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! The students are so appreciative of all the donations you have made to help make our indoor recess project a reality. The fidget spinners were the biggest hit and the students were so excited to learn they could keep them and play with the spinners at recess.

The journals and sketch books are incredible! After recess the students show me what they've been sketching and it is amazing. The mandalas and origami also have been keeping students enjoyably busy at recess. Art and having time to be creative is so important. Thank you for the generous gift and allowing these fantastic NYC students to have winter recess FUN!”

  • Social Emotional Learning Is A Work of heART

    Funded Apr 7, 2021

Thank you for funding my project and supplying my class with art materials and books! The books by Mo Willems and Dav Pilkey we're perfect model resources for our comic book writing unit. The students loved reading the books and then creating their own comics. Having personal sets of colored pencils allowed the students to create beautifully designed books.

Thank you for the text on Augusta Savage. My students loved learning about this creative woman, and then were able to create their own clay sculptures with the crayons clay packs.

Also, each student received personal art packs with items such as oil pastels, graph paper, and colored pencils. They worked at home to create pixel art pieces and other works of art.

We truly appreciate your generosity and support. As a teacher, I especially appreciate your support during this time of teaching in a pandemic.”

  • Stuck on You

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Thank you so much for all of the stickers and prizes. My students love receiving their letters filled with all the goodies that show up to their homes throughout this school year.

Recently, I sent out Valentine cards to each student. Students and their parents have acknowledged how wonderful it is to receive the caring letters. They have showed me pictures of how they use the stickers to decorate or create new artwork. The social emotional aspect of teaching is always important, but especially in this challenging school year. My students and their families know they are cared about and they matter. Thank you for supporting my classroom.”

  • You've Got Mail

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Thank you so much for funding the project, "You've Got Mail!" My students in kindergarten, fourth, and fifth grade LOVED receiving their letters. In this time of remote and hybrid learning, receiving a personalized letter allows me to connect with my students and their families. They know that the school community CARES for them in Queens, New York.

I appreciate your support! My students are motivated to complete their work because they know more letters will be on their way this year, including a Valentine next month.”

  • Home Is Where the Art Is

    Funded May 6, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to my project, Home is Where the Art is. Distance learning through this pandemic has not been easy, but your gifts provided humanity during these times. I safely packaged up the sketch books, markers, pencils, paints, and construction paper. I made sure to decorate my car with all the students names and a thank you message to Donors Choose. Coordinating with the families and delivering the supplies to the students in Queens was a great moment. Even better was getting enthusiastic messages sharing the art they are producing at home. Thank you so much for caring about these incredible kids!”

  • Technology with a Tablet

    Funded May 18, 2019

Thank you for making this school year one of the best yet! Having this project fully funded was a joyous way for my class to end the school year.

The children loved opening the package and seeing the brand new Microsoft Surface Go tablet with the case and keyboard! Having a touch screen in kindergarten makes using technology in the classroom simple and kid friendly. The students enjoyed being able to play their learning games, like Imagine Learning and iReady.

We truly appreciate all the support to our classroom this year!”

  • Keeping Play in K: Creating Architecture for Family Dolls

    Funded Dec 31, 2018

What a way to start 2019! My students and I were so excited to see packages delivered to our classroom.

They were thrilled to open up the first box and find all the doll families from different races. It is wonderful to have toys that represent the beauty of my kids' backgrounds. It also makes play realistic for our classroom. The dollhouse section is now one of the most popular center activities, thanks to your generosity.

When we opened up the next box, they cheered as they saw brand new magnatiles with cars. Having this new magnatiles set allows the students to be more creative in their architectural designs. They have been making castles, schools, hospitals, ambulances, police cars, fire trucks, etc.

Thank you so much for funding this project and for supporting play in the classroom. The most important benefit is the time my students can interact socially with these fun educational toys. Seeing them work together and problem solve is something that I know will have a lasting impact. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Adamson
