I have thirty-four students with bright and energetic personalities, who deserve the opportunity to explore their learning in real and meaningful ways. My classroom is a melting pot; mixing students from different states, countries, and abilities to explore their learning together. Each child brings to the classroom a vibrant perspective of the world through their own eyes.
We are in a school with a great culture but the fact is that the budgets have been cut, resulting in class sizes that are larger and blended (mixing 2nd and 3rd graders). To help with student learning, I have the students work in "tribes" which change every couple of weeks. They are learning to find pride in themselves, their work, their tribe, their class, and school.
They work well together and are extremely curious and hands-on learners. Requesting this particular equipment to support our work in the science standards feeds directly into the needs and style of my students.
