STEAM Club Supplies
Funded Oct 8, 2021Thanks to your generosity, we have had some amazing experiences in our biweekly STEAM club. The most popular experiment, by far, was our rocket-building month. It was so fun to build our chalk and vinegar-powered rockets. The students loved altering variables for maximum propulsion and height. They also were able to learn how they could recreate the experiment at home with everyday household items. They are still talking about it!
One of the most frequent questions the students ask is, "Where did you get this stuff?" They were awed when they found out we got everything from people they do not know. They love thinking about all the things we are able to do, and are inspired by the kind strangers who care about them and their education. It teaches them that there are people out there who do good things for people they do not know just because they want to.
One of the most anticipated projects is slime making. All of the students in the club have opinions on the best way to make it, so it will be fun to see them take their recipes, make the slime, and compare and contrast their creations. They think of slime as a toy, but they are using that toy to for hypothesis, compare their results, and make adjustments for the future. They are especially excited because my recipe for slime did not quite work out. My STEAM Club cannot wait to prove their ideas are better than mine!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Jackson
