The students in my class and school as a whole are from low socioeconomic families. More than 90% of our students are on free or reduced cost meals. We have a large of population of students who speak little to no English. As a special education teacher I find it challenging to make sure that all of my students are meeting grade level standards and have the emotional support they need to be successful. They have the desire to learn and are hard workers, but every day is a struggle for some of them.
