Eager Explorers Get Moving
Funded Feb 17, 2017Thanks to you, my students had a tremendous amount of fun while learning about health and fitness! They were thrilled to see all of the new materials including a kid's treadmill, a child's exercise bike, a beginner weight set, exercise bands, and pilates balls! A few children jumped up and down and clapped their hands in excitement. The equipment that you purchased was enjoyed by that class of students and continues to be used with other children! Your investment in young children, DC Public Schools, and in me is greatly appreciated.”

Materials for Magical Musicians
Funded Dec 29, 2016I can't thank you enough for contributing to such a meaningful project! My students were thrilled to have materials to make their own musical instruments. Together we made can drums, xylophone, string instruments, flutes, trumpets, box drums, and more! The children also played with real instruments that were purchased as part of this grant. They have learned an incredible amount about music-making and had fun in the process. It's been a wonderful experience guiding them through this study with your help!”

Calm & Colorful Classroom for our Eager Explorers
Funded Oct 13, 2016The music making has been joyous and loud! With your help our students became musicians and creators - they made rain sticks, drums, clappers, and more!
The students were excited to turn everyday items into musical instruments - it's one more example of them being able to change their world.
They explored sounds through creating their own instruments, trying out instruments, and working together. This exploration would not have been as rich without your support! Our next study will pick up on these themes of movement through the study of exercise. Thank you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Levin
