    Funded Apr 25, 2022

On behalf of my students and myself, we would like to take the time to thank you for going above and beyond each step of the way. We are ecstatic for what the future has in store for our coding skills! We look forward to enhancing the learning experience for all learners.”

  • STEM-ing Into Coders

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Since we have received out wonderful resources donated to this specific project, we have been finding ways to integrate coding academic language into our curriculum. When this project was first approved and I got to share that moment with my students they couldn't believe they would be learning how to code. One student asked to be a teachers assistant or coding assistant when the resources arrived. In the upcoming months, we will be devoting time to learning about the historical figures and influential individuals who helped make coding into what it is. My students are excited to build their own games and understand how computers work on the inside. Thank you for helping my students life-long learning goals become a reality :) !”

    With gratitude,

  • Promoting Learning Through the Integration of Technology

    Funded Nov 28, 2017

Since we have received the iPads through your thoughtful contribution to our classroom, I truly see the impact it has had on my students. Through the iPads software and App Store, my students have gained a deeper connection to their learning by having the curriculum adapted to meet his or her specific learning needs. In addition to differentiation, we as a class have been using the iPads for small-group work to practice math concepts, read stories, be up to date with current events, and use software that pre-assess the students to match exactly where he or she is struggling. When the iPads were initially introduced to my students, I truly feel that they were motivated to learn and see using the iPads as a reward and an additional support tool to foster their learning. We are extremely grateful for your generous donations and look forward to utilizing the iPads more often.”

    With gratitude,

  • Classroom Library: Learning Through Reading!

    Funded Mar 10, 2017

Since receiving your generation donations, my students have not stopped reading. These books have given my students the opportunity to grow as readers, and writers through the details put into the stories you allowed us to read. Whenever my students hear, "take out a book and read", they move at such a fast pace. As a teacher, I understand the value of reading, and so appreciative that you have shed light onto the importance as well. As you can see from the project photos, my bookshelves are filled with age-appropriate texts!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Pragen

  • Learning in Color!

    Funded Dec 12, 2016

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Since receiving our color printer, everything has been far more colorful in class 3-235! We recently just published our unit of study on predators. Students were able to bring their unique predators to life by drafting them on paper, then publishing, and printing their final predators in color! My students were so excited and continue to share their excitement when their homework, morning work, an educational games are in color.

When the students first saw the materials, they were confused why we had a new printer. Not knowing it printed in color, they thought it was pointless until all of a sudden things were visually appealing.

There will for sure be future classroom projects to come, and we will continue to use our printer on a daily basis. Again, thank you so much for donating to my classroom! It has had such a positive impact on the way my students learn.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Pragen

My students are empathetic, smart, and most importantly eager to learn. They attend a public elementary school in the East Village that mainstreams students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) into the general education classroom. In order to ensure these children are receiving the best education possible, they must be provided with the necessary tools and resources. Every day spent working in my school and teaching my students is something I truly cherish. My students come in every morning with a big smile on each of their faces ready to learn.
