Two Screens
Funded Mar 8, 2021Thank you so much for providing a second screen during a difficult year because of COVID-19 . This second screen allowed me to see my students faces while presenting the materials virtually on zoom. Most of my students were virtual this year and so I had to do zoom and in person at the same time. Being able to see the students faces while presenting the materials made the class seem a little bit more normal. It made teaching much easier and allowed for me to see my students better! Thank you again so much for the second screen!”

This classroom project was brought to life by SONIC Drive-In and 3 other donors.Math on Dry Erase
Funded Mar 12, 2020Thank you so much for the white board easel. With Half of my students being online and half being in person this is a great resource to display math , agenda, or vocabulary words. I have it positioned so that all can see it (on Zoom and in person).
My students really enjoyed it. I think this will also be a huge asset if we have to close down again because it will be a portable whiteboard that I can still have students see.
I can not wait until covid risks are lower because I will definitely have my students use the white board easel to show their work and explain their reasoning! I love the fact that it is magnetic!”

Finding a Place for Everything.
Funded Sep 1, 2017Thank you so much for helping my classroom to have storage for my students to feel prepared everyday. The bookshelves hold the students binders and workbooks for the class. Students also know the paper is up by their books if they need more paper.
The students are able to access these bookshelves during the whole class period every day. The organization helps the students be independent. It has saved classroom time, making sure that everyone has the proper materials to succeed for the day. These bookshelves and furniture keep my classroom organized, which keeps the teacher organized and the students organized.”

A Basic Start to the New Year
Funded Aug 24, 2017Thank you so much for the resources for the new year. The students love the colorful paper for foldable and interactive notebooks. They also absolutely loved the easy to use stapler.
The students were so excited about the colored paper. Whenever I print review material foldable they always get so excited and pay more attention to the lesson. I plan to continue using the colored paper to enhance the students' learning. I have also made scavenger hunt and task cards on the colored paper which makes the students excited to do the activities.”

Response Clickers
Funded Jan 26, 2017Thank you for helping provide me with technology in the classroom. The response clicker have been very useful in assessing the content each individual student understands. Each student response is recorded and the students get immediate feedback on if they got the correct answer or not. This allows the students to know what aspect of the material they are not understanding. The students love using the clickers as a review game! The students who do not normally participate are encouraged to have a voice and attempt the all the math problems. Every student is now engaged! Thank you so much for providing these opportunities for my students.”

TI NSpire For The Class Room!
Funded Sep 27, 2016Technology is helping my students learn by being able to visually see multiple graphs on the calculator. One of the most beneficial uses for these calculators is having the students explore transformations on functions. This calculator is able to graph multiple functions all on the same screen. It uses difference colors so the students can see what happens when you add 2 to the quadratic equation. There are many different ways of using the calculator. My favorite way to use the calculators is through exploring concepts. The TI-Nspire site has so many awesome resources to help teachers create explorations on the calculators.
The most exciting aspect of the new product to my students is allowing all 32 of my students to have a reliable calculator during these explorations. Some of the previous calculators were damaged and would not charge or had large scratches from students using them so much. Now every one of my students is able to participate and explore on their own calculator during the explorations.
Some of my students have definitely warmed to this new technology. Some of the students who have been using this technology in other classrooms are more efficient at using the product then I am. I am constantly learning new short cuts on the calculators from the students. Also. the students really like when I make a document and download it on all of the calculators for them to math discoveries. Some of the students are able to understand the concepts of math better because of these new devices. The students love using the calculators. They are a great asset to the classroom.”
