An Apple (MacBook Pro) a Day, Keeps my Students Engaged
Funded May 7, 2024We recently received Promethean Boards in our classrooms and I am grateful for this. However, my computer is nearing the end of its lifespan and I desperately need a replacement so that I can use my Promethean Board efficiently.
Enter Donors choose and generous people like you! This Apple computer will allow me to continue creating lessons that are meaningful and engaging. This computer will be used to create assignments, grade work, watch educational videos and most importantly, SEL lessons stored in my Google Drive.
Knowing that you are a member of our community and a Franklin Fox, since your child attends our school, makes me so happy because I feel so supported by generous people like you.
Once again, thank you for your generosity!”

Funded Jan 11, 2023LAUSD, I see this kind gesture as a move in the right direction to ensure that our students and schools are equipped with all the resources needed to succeed.
The items purchased will allow students to be able to move around the classroom and have flexible seating. This way, they will be free to find that special place in the classroom where they can focus and be productive.
I hope LAUSD continues to put student and teachers at the top of its priority list so that we can give our kids a fair change at success.”

Projector to Enlighten Minds
Funded Dec 21, 2022Words cannot describe my gratitude towards your generosity in gifting my class with a brand new projector! During and after the pandemic, technology became a priority in the classroom. Projectors are part of our daily instruction in the classroom. With a projector, I can demonstrate lessons, show educational videos and give my students access to our whole curriculum. A projector allows me to teach whole group instruction and reach all may students at the same time. It also increases focus as students are drawn to images and text that is enlarged for their convenience.”

Technology in the Classroom Keeps Students Engaged
Funded Nov 3, 2019I want to take this time to thank you on behalf of my amazing third graders for your generous donation. Because of you, my classroom has a new laptop! This Mac has many uses in my classroom.
I used it to create lessons for my students where they can be saved for upcoming school years. I also use it to project lesson for my students, especially science lessons and social studies lessons that make my teaching way more interesting and engaging. This computer also serves as a bridge to communicate with parents as I am constantly sending emails and pictures to them so they know what is going on in the classroom.
For me as a teacher, it also allows me to collect data for my students and be able to share it with parents during parent conferences. It saves time and space in my classroom. My students use it to conduct researches on various topics such as animal adaptions, and Native American tribes of California.
Now a days, it's impossible to run a classroom without technology. This is why I am extremely grateful for your donation.”

Funded Mar 15, 2016Thank you so much for your generosity!
We have had an opportunity to use our Ozobots and my students can't get enough! They are using the codes to create puzzles for the Ozobots.
The kids had experimented with coding before through a computer program, so they were familiar with the skill, but the Ozobots are giving them a whole new way of challenging themselves. They are not just sharpening their skills, but they are also having fun! Programing the Ozobots with color coding is the perfect way to engage them in such an important skill.
Through your generosity, I have been able to introduce my students to coding and Ozobots creating a strong foundation for the next grade level.”

Funded Nov 12, 2015I cannot fully express how thankful I am for your generosity. The books you've so kindly donated have been put to good use.
The books are mainly used in small group (5-6 students) to introduce the kids to chapter books, reading fluency, and reading comprehension. They are excellent to use with my volunteers and teacher assistant. They read a chapter or two at a time and answer oral reading comprehension questions about what they've read.
The students love these books because they are fun, and provide them with the confidence they need to become amazing reader, not to mention, develop a life-long passion for reading. The idea is not for them to be challenged by the reading, but by the content and discussion about the book.
My students are particularly enjoying the Amelia Bedelia books because they have been exposed to many of these stories.
Once again, thank you for your generosity!”

Technology Is The Wave Of The Future
Funded Jan 28, 2012I am so grateful to you for your generous donation to our project. The projector you helped fund has been put to great use. The students love working with it and having access to more than just written material in a textbook.
I can do math and language arts activities that include the whole class. I can also connect it to my laptop to access online resources. It definitely makes instruction more effective and engaging for my students.
Our schools are facing server budget cuts and if it weren't for people like you, our students would be deprived of good quality instructional material.

Funded Nov 15, 2010Thank you so much for your kindness. My students are enjoying their "special gift", as I often refer to it. They have learned many different skills, such as rhyming, blending, and letter sounds.
My students are considered to be intensive as measured by their assessments, the material you donated to our classroom has helped them tremendously because it's geared directly to attack their specific needs.
My students love the material so much that they ask to "play" with it. It's learning made fun!
Thanks again for your generosity.
