  • Chapter Book Read Aloud for ALL!

    Funded Oct 4, 2024

Thank you so much for your continued support of my fourth and fifth grade students. As a new 5th grade teacher, getting class sets of read alouds is expensive! This will allow each one of my students to have their own classroom copy of our first whole class read aloud. My students are so excited to get their hands on these books and begin their reading journey!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Holmes

  • Motivation Through Desk Pets

    Funded Jul 19, 2024

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity! Thanks to your generous donation, I am able to make this idea come to life! Students will be so excited to earn these prizes for their excellent classroom behavior, focus toward assignments, and hard work completing them in a timely manner. We will get all these items just in time for the start of the year so we can implement this right away. Thank you again for all of your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Holmes

  • Back to School Essentials!

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

I am so fortunate for this project being funded prior to the start of the year! This project was chalk full of prime beginning of the year items. From pencils to crayons so that students came to school with pencil boxes full of erasers, expo markers, and the items they needed to being successful. To simple items we'd take for granted - Kleenex - when cold season hits.

This allowed for my students and their families to take their focus away from the need to purchase classroom supplies for their child, to their child getting acclimated to the classroom and having a good year. Not to mention, we often run out of these classroom necessities rather quickly. This allowed us to stay ahead and fully stocked for a large portion of the school year with post it notes and pencils (it's always the pencils we go through like crazy!). Thank you once again!”

  • Reading Is A Mystery

    Funded Nov 14, 2023

Thank you so much for helping to make THIS project happen. Thanks to your contribution we were able to purchase roughly 30 new books to accompany our mystery unit. These books were bought in packs of 4. This allowed students to be grouped together based on reading level and to work in small groups.

Before this project, I was having to go to the public library and check out as many mystery books as possible because I had such a limited amount as a new upper grade teacher. Now, not only were my students this year able to utilize these books, read in book clubs, and enjoy not just 1, but multiple mystery books. But my students for years to come will be able to benefit from these books through mystery book clubs.

Thank you so much! And please, check out some of my newer projects for the upcoming school year for flexible seating and promoting positive classroom behavior.”

  • Back to School With the Essentials!

    Funded Jul 13, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Thanks to you, my students will start the school year with their essentials - classwork folders, pencils, name tags, crayons. As well as beginning of the year items - class friendship bracelets, smencils for their birthdays, and new stools for small groups. All these new items will start our year off with a BANG! Thank you once again for supporting my classroom and students.”

  • Calming Journals

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you for the continued support of my students' social emotional needs. These calming journals correlated with our daily morning meetings. Each morning, we met on the carpet and covered a different trait each month. Some of these traits consisted of friendship, cooperation, honesty. We read different read alouds that covered these traits. Students wrote in the journals weekly discussing their feelings and connections to these traits. These journals were extremely useful and critical to our weekly social emotion learning. Thank you again for your support!”

  • Ready, Set, & Write!

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you for your generous donations to my fourth grade classroom. I appreciate your continued support of our classroom endeavors. Thanks to your donation, you helped my students achieve their writing needs!

Your donations allowed for me to purchase various writing units that covered narrative, informational, opinion, and persuasive writing. The post-it pad and markers allowed for me to create helpful anchor charts for my students. This created visuals for my students and helped improve their writing.

Additionally, the pencils helped my students get their creative juices flowing! Thank you again and be on the look out for my upcoming READING projects to improve our classroom library!”

  • Book Clubs

    Funded Nov 23, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Thanks to you, I was able to purchase several different chapter books at various reading levels. This allowed me to find books that not only interested my students, but met their learning needs.

With these books, we were able to conduct a book "tasting" in which students "tasted" or tried out a couple different books. From there, we created small reading groups. These students read their books - that you helped fund - together over the course of a month. Once finished, students created a book project that they then presented to the class.

The books are in excellent condition and will be utilized for years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Holmes

  • Calm, Cool, & Collected

    Funded Aug 8, 2021

Thank you so much for everything! We had a very fun "unboxing" experience together as a class. The students "ooh"-ed and "aahh"-ed at each item I pulled out of the boxes that arrived to our classroom. Thanks to you, your donations helped our classroom to gain the necessary materials to not only create a calming corner, but to obtain calming tools that students could utilize in class. These consisted of stress balls, calming timers, and figits.

Not only were we able to create a calming corner with appropriate materials, but we added to our SEL (Social Emotional Learning) book library. These books were utilized as read alouds to the entire class during our daily morning meetings. Each meeting covered a specific topic that our read aloud covered. This created talking points for the class and a safe space for students.

Please consider donating again soon for this upcoming school year. I intend to replenish our calming corner and extend our read aloud selection! Be on the look out for book club, reading nook, and math centers projects.Thank you for everything you have done.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Holmes

  • Hands on Math!

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity! Thanks to your donations my 4th grade students will receive math tools, games, and manipulatives to make math learning fun and hands on. As well as helping them to have a successful year of learning. We cannot wait to utilize these this year during our math rotations. Thank you for making this project possible!”

The Governor has since closed schools within counties considered hot spots. Since Orange County is currently one of the largest hot spots, our school will begin the year 100% distance learning. Even once given the approval to return to the classroom, our school library will remain closed due to health and sanitary reasons related to the coronavirus. Individual book bags filled with beautiful, new books, will be sent home to my students and give them reading materials at their fingertips while learning virtually. This will allow them to grow and flourish as readers, and still have access to new and noteworthy books, and for me, their teacher, to continue to work on their reading comprehension and fluency through the screen. The book rack will allow me to carry out the necessary health precautions of sanitizing, drying, and hanging the bags and books before sending out the next batch to my students. Bags will be sent out on weekly rotations.
