Thank you to our secret donor! I know that a project requesting wires, chargers and wipes is not so exciting but they are absolutely necessary items for our classroom. Everything arrived today. Having the charging port makes it possible to have an additional charging station. While technology has been updated, our classroom electricity has not. We have only a few outlets in the classroom. The wipes should last us through the rest of the school year. Today was the 100th day of school! We have a little over 80 more days to go! Thank you for your support; We appreciate you.”
The banners arrived just in time to make our Black History decor pop! Students and staff have already stopped to take photos in front of the banners. The hallways look fantastic with the added colors. The posters included in this project will be displayed during our school wide celebration. They are filled with information of history makers like Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou and Langston Hughes. The posters will be used throughout the school year, including Women's History Month in March. Thank you for matched donations which made this project possible.”

Thanks to Dr. Tish and "Someone who cares for New York City" for supporting this project. Our classroom is a safe place for all including very young children and children with special needs. This calming tools purchased for this project have been a wonderful addition to our space. The children have access to similar items in their classrooms so I wanted to make sure that they have the same tools available to them in our Wellness Room. The children's favorites are the breathing ball and liquid motion bubblers.”

The funding of this project made me smile so much because it was literally funded by longtime donors, friends and family with help from a fantastic triple match from LOFT! You all are amazing. It's so hard to fund projects for basic things like underwear but you totally get it and we appreciate your support every single time.
The kids are so funny when they ask for skincare items. "I can't be funky." "My lips are crusty." "Help me. I'm ashy!!!" They are so dramatic but we always have exactly what they need because of your support. Thank you!”

A special thanks you to LOFT for tripling donations to this project!! This funding allowed me to pay for this project myself. My wellness room was clean out of snacks so this amazing match was right on time! I'd like to thank LOFT and other supporters for understanding how important the projects for care, warmth and hunger are. Children who are hungry or in need of basic care items, have difficulty succeeding in school. Sometimes a little snack makes the difference in whether we have a great day or a not so great one. Children who are hungry cannot focus and they act out sometimes; If we can work together to keep kids healthy, warm and fed, it's a win for us all. We appreciate you!”

Yay! We have hoodies to keep our scholars toasty on cold days. Many of our students lack adequate winter clothing to keep them warm. Having hoodies on hand will allow them to layer clothing if they have a lighter jacket or coat. Hoodies are by far their favorite thing to wear; They will go pretty fast. The children were excited to get new ones. We will add school logos and designs to the hoodies so they will be accepted as school uniform clothing; This means, they can be worn to all school functions inside and outside of the building. The hoodies are functional and fashionable! We appreciate your support!”
Thank you for your generous donations! Thanks to Con Edison for matching all donations. Match campaigns make our dreams more accessible. The boxes arrived and the girls got busy right away unpacking them. The girls are working on several designs for the shirts. It is a team effort! Designs are created and cut using a Cricut machine. Having uniform shirts make the members easily identifiable and they look awesome! They will wear shirts with pride to meetings, outings and school assemblies. Thank you for supporting children and educators.”

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Our stock of pants had completely run out! We now have new pants on hand for those oopsie moments. The pants will be used for children who have a bathroom accident in school. Paired with wipes and a clean pair of underwear, the children can get right back to enjoying their day of learning. The pants purchased will also be used for any children who may be in need of clean clothing. Sometimes emergencies arise and families may need assistance providing clothing for the children. Thank you for caring about our students. We appreciate you.”
Thank you so much for your generous donations! This rug looks fantastic! Word spread quickly about the new carpet. The children really appreciate having a room that looks nice and feels comfortable. I wish every classroom could look as nice as mine; I owe it all to you. My classroom is just what the children and I want it to be.
The children love having a designated spot to claim as their own. It's still a bit of a squeeze for the larger classes but we have room for another one! Thank you so much. You re making a difference every day.”

Thank you for your generous donation. The new cleaning supplies arrived just as we were finishing up the last. We go through lots of cleaning wipes because so many people share our space. We use wipes for the hard surfaces constantly! Cleanses often come to my room following lunch. I can tell what was on the menu from looking at their little faces sometimes. The baby wipes come in handy for a quick face or hand wash. Thank you for helping us keep our space clean and germ free. We appreciate you. :)”

My school serves 500 children in pre-kindergarten 3/4-5th grade in New York City. The majority of our students reside in a nearby public housing development. We also have students from families living in homeless shelters, a high percentage of students that are new to the country (ENL) and students that receive special education services. All of our students receive free lunch.
This year, I get to share yoga, health and wellness with all children, 3k- fifth! I also teach STEM, reading and theater.
Although my students face many challenges, they show up and give it their best daily. It is my wish to level the playing field to give my kids a chance at a better education. I've seen former students go on to do amazing things!
Any donation large or small will be greatly appreciated and used to enhance the educational lives of my awesome scholars. :)
