Thank you for making our partnership dreams come true! The girls were so excited to receive the snacks and art supplies needed to connect with the older adults in our community. The girls hosted a warming station for the seniors. They served tea, coffee, hot cocoa, and snacks to all who attended our Holiday Show. We are working on building strong intergenerational bonds in our community. We visit the center and they also come to the school.
We look forward to hosting the Sippy and Paint this Spring. We are inviting a local artist to come in to guide the participants. A great time will be had by all. Thank you!”
Thanks to all donors, the match, and DonorsChoose for your support of children and teachers. Projects that support literacy have a direct impact on learning. You are closing the learning gap that children of color and children in poverty often face.
No matter what subject I teach, literacy will always have a place. Thanks for making wellness and reading come together.”

Thank you for supporting this project. The electric pump was put right to use! The children enjoyed see how the machine works. They think it's really cool; Since I'm the lady working it, some of the cool points rub off on me! :)
We have been enjoying playing kickball, soccer, football and basketball outside. The children are also practicing sharing and taking turns while they learn the games. This machine should last a long time, bringing many smiles to the children's faces. We appreciate your support.”

Thank you for your generous donations of personal care items. We completed a personal care unit that reviewed healthy habits like diet, exercise, and hygiene. The deodorant came right on time! The children have been dropping by to pick up deodorant as needed. They love having a choice of a few different kinds.
Having personal care items available for my students is important as it boosts their self-confidence. When children feel good about themselves, they tend to have a better attitude and perform better in school. Thank you for supporting children.”

This classroom project was brought to life by A New York City Parent and 7 other donors.
My school serves 500 children in pre-kindergarten 3/4-5th grade in New York City. The majority of our students reside in a nearby public housing development. We also have students from families living in homeless shelters, a high percentage of students that are new to the country (ENL) and students that receive special education services. All of our students receive free lunch.
This year, I get to share yoga, health and wellness with all children, 3k- fifth! I also teach STEM, reading and theater.
Although my students face many challenges, they show up and give it their best daily. It is my wish to level the playing field to give my kids a chance at a better education. I've seen former students go on to do amazing things!
Any donation large or small will be greatly appreciated and used to enhance the educational lives of my awesome scholars. :)
