It is with my most sincere gratitude that I thank you for making it possible in obtaining this valuable resource known as a listening center. It is a precious resource that my students might not other wise obtain due to massive budget cuts.Thanks to your generous donations my students have used their listening center as a part of an everyday ritual. Everyday they look forward to reading a new book and it coming to life by a narrator. Not only do they listen attentively to these stories but they are also able to work on vocabulary and comprehension skills that are needed to master.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Wasserman Foundation and 14 other donors.

My class is made up of 25 Second grade Latino students who love a good book. They come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and receive free lunches. Many of these students lack the resources at home to enjoy an audio book. Nine years ago, our school provided our classrooms with a diverse set of audio books, headphones and CD player but over time these resources have broken down. For the last three years, I have used my own CD player and headphones but now we are in dire need of new headphones because they are breaking down due to the every day wear and tear.
