I believe that students have amazing capacity to learn, and I hold my students to very high standards. I spend time in class teaching my students methods to become the most successful person they can be. One of the things I emphasize most to my students is to THINK and problem solve, not just memorize information and then try to regurgitate the "right" answers. In real life, there is not always an authority figure at the front of the room holding all the correct answers, where all one has to do to be successful is bubble in a series of letters. In this world, information moves at the speed of light, there are new discoveries all the time, and sea of false information to wade through. If students do not know how to research and learn independently, what will they do when they need to make a decision for themselves?
