Puppets Can Help Us Discuss It
Funded Aug 17, 2021I waited until my first-grade class arrived to unbox our new friends and classmates. They immediately wanted to know their names and thus began our interaction with the puppet friends you made possible. I allowed the class to name them, so now we have Isabella (who we call Bella), Emily, Peter, Jose, and the twins Luke and Duke. It has been so much fun for all of us. The impact in our drama class has been more than I expected. The students use the puppets during the week, and I'm amazed at their openness, kindness, and the advice they provide through the puppets. But they get really excited about puppet Friday when they get a different puppet to interact with, and I'm the puppeteer. The students talk about what is on their minds, what their week has been like, we sing and tell each other jokes. It has been great! Every quarter I get new students, and I can't wait to introduce them to our puppet friends.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Please know that you have made an impact in my class.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Williams

Funded Mar 25, 2019I am just so grateful, words are not enough to express my thanks. What you did for the girls at Ivy was above and beyond. You planted a seed that I promise to keep nurturing as long as they are in my care. After the show, really to the end of the school term, the cast, the school, and parents were talking about how impressive our production was...and we could've have done it without you!
One of the cast members commented as we were opening one of the boxes with the costumes in it "Ms. Williams, this is the icing on the cake!". Your donations gave them the confidence and the sense of validity that they needed to get on stage and share their talents. They were beaming from ear to ear opening night! Our production of "The Wiz" was a success.
Thank you for planting into our scholars and our new theatrical program. The girls are already talking about our theatre classes and the next production. I love what I do and I appreciate you more than you will ever know for helping me do what I do.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Williams
