S-"print" to Success: Where Youth and Screen Printing Collide!
Funded Feb 22, 2024Your kindness and generosity is appreciated. My students always look forward to learning new hands on skills. I'm looking forward to realizing lots of creativity with screen printing. I have students who aspire to be entrepreneurs with apparel and clothing lines. Screen printing is one option that I can teach them how to design and create products themselves. Warm regards!”

Mirrorless. Filtered. Captured Moments in Time.
Funded Feb 8, 2023My students have been so excited to work with the new camera! This gives them the opportunity to explore current trends in the photography industry. I have a couple of students who prefer this new camera over our others, and I can understand why! It's great! I hope to give them more opportunities!
Students practice both in our studio and outside photography. There are times when students work on real-world problems to come up with solutions for businesses and community partners.
Thank you so much! Your support, kindness, and care mean so much!”

Funded Dec 3, 2020Hopefully you were able to take a look at the photos that were shared, to see that the setup and getting the 3D printer going was all student lead! When I say that a student took the lead, he unboxed, took the user's manual home (he asked), connected, and has been printing most days since, this young man took the lead! By him taking the lead, other students both in the class and virtual students, are able to be just as excited about having something that they have built in a 3D software program come to life.
We are able to assist our Construction Technology program with 3D printing small models of items that they were already mocking up in a 3D software. By us now having the printer they were able to see their ideas come to life before building with wood! It's been an exciting process to watch the students learn and grow.
One student who has found items online to print, at one point said that he didn't see himself as creative enough to build a custom 3D design to be printed, has now, after searching, decided he feels confident enough to take the effort to learn to create a custom item.
We really appreciate your generosity, and want you to know that you are much appreciated! I has opened up new possibilities for our students. Thank you so much for all that you have done and well wishes!”

Teenpreneur: Lights, Camera & Advertise!
Funded Mar 1, 2019My students have had an wonderful time exploring with the tools that you helped us to get. The students are excited about not only creating works of art and products to sell, but also know learning how to brand and display it in a professional way so that consumers can see how great their work is!
This begins a new school year, so there are students who have never touched a dslr camera. There are some who are apprehensive, yet those who have been willing to try, have excelled. They've been excited about learning the different manual settings on the camera. There's much to learn, and seemingly so little time. We have many exciting projects that are coming in from the community that the students will have the opportunity to work on. We even have a shared non-profit project that our classes will work on with students that are in a various schools around our network https://yourcapsnetwork.org/.
Thanks so much for believing in our classes!”

Funded Oct 20, 2017The students had a blast with the idea that they would have to "literally" unlock the topic of the lesson. "Why are there so many locks?" "What do we have to do?", were just a few of the questions that start coming in as soon as the start to the task was announced. Just the wonder of what was in the box peaked their interest. Once time began for the learning activity, critical thinking had to come into play. The task nearly stumped some students. It was exciting to issue the students the challenge of thinking outside of the box. In life, answers to issues and problems most liked won't handed to these individuals all the time, many times they will have to put the pieces together in order to decode the answers.
Prior to this session with the physical break out locks, we finished two digital breakouts. The digital breakouts gave the students a glimpse into how to analyze the clues given. Through the clues they could understand it all would reveal a chunk of the lesson in order reveal combinations. It was exciting to see these young people during "ah ha moments", and moments where they were able to find a key or code by making connections. They even asked to continue past the set amount of time in order to crack the code. Many worked past the bell, and yes a couple succeeded with lots of hints, but they unlocked the box!
I really am grateful for the contribution! I plan to continue by creating more lessons that I hope will engage the students as well as help them make connections to prior learning! Hopefully I will be able to share what I have done with my peers, so they may conduct similar engaging lessons in their classrooms as well. Thank you so much for everything! Thank you for believing in my students and me!”

Artist on A Mission
Funded Oct 19, 2011Overjoyed! One word to describe your contribution toward our art program. Even though the supplies listed are basic, they are fundamental in the development of each child's artistic ability!
I'm so excited, the supplies you've donated will be used in a variety of projects! Each project is designed to build critical thinking skills, encourage problem solving, not only in the art room, but each subject the students work in! Thank you so much for your generosity!”
