Our school plans to allow students to borrow the games we are requesting during their lunch period. Research shows that games can provide an opportunity for students to hone skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, negotiation, delegation and even empathy. They also provide an outlet for stress relief amidst the rigorous academics they encounter throughout the rest of the day. We need games - Sorry, Taboo, Battleship, Trouble and more - to play during lunch to learn how to successfully interact with one another and to be able to destress from their intensive academic work during the remainder of the school day. We seek to use these games to improve school culture and climate and allow our students the space to enjoy them and create bonds with other students. We so appreciate any contribution you can make to these efforts.
