Science Materials Needed!
Funded Feb 8, 2014Thank you all for all your help getting our science tools funded! My students were extremely excited when we received the boxes of all of our science materials. Funds are extremely limited in our school district and thanks to you I was able to supply my Science classroom with science tools that helped my students have a greater love for science.
Many of my students have never worked with a microscope before, because of your help I was able to provide my students the opportunity to use a microscope and understand it's functions. They were also able to use the measuring tools such as the beakers and the graduated cylinders with our science labs. They felt like true scientists!
I am extremely grateful for all your help in funding our science tools. My students have become familiar with all the measuring tools and the microscope. I feel that they are leaving fourth grade with a greater love for Science all because of your help!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Disney and 11 other donors.Help me prepare today's students for tomorrow's world!
Funded Dec 5, 2013I want to thank you both for your donations to help us incorporate STEM into our fourth grade gifted program. The labs in the STEM kits are awesome! The students were extremely excited and eager to explore our STEM based science projects when they arrived at school. We are extremely thankful that you were able to help us obtain the lab kits for our classroom.
The students are currently working in pairs to work on their STEM labs. We are currently learning about force and motion and the labs incorporates the lesson in a hands-on approach while infusing science, math and technology. The lab we just did involved the students creating different ramps and calculating the speed of a marble from the different angles of the ramps. It also involved the students doing research on the Internet on Isaac Newton.
I love that my students are able to make the connections from what we are learning in both Math and Science to everyday life. The hands on approach and application has made my students excited to learn about Science and Math.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Ruiz
Gifted Mathematicians & Scientists Need Dry Erase Boards
Funded Oct 29, 2013I can't thank you enough for helping fund our dry erase boards and markers! The students are so happy that they are able to work with the dry erase boards. They love working with them, especially when they are given challenging Math problems to work out. They especially enjoy sharing how they solved the problem with the class.
We are using the dry erase boards to review for Science Tests and to work out Math problems. I also use the dry erase boards to play class educational games.
Since I am using the boards to review for the tests, the students are studying more to make sure they are prepared when we play the Science Class games. When playing the class games I am able to identify easily which students need more help with certain skills/topic. I can now identify easily which students need extra help and I can plan accordingly to drive my instruction or work with students in small groups.
Again, thank you SO much for helping fund our classroom materials. We are extremely grateful for you generosity and really enjoy working with our dry erase boards and markers!”

Mrs. Ruiz

Funded Nov 6, 2013Thank you so much for our Science Enrichment materials. My students loved playing the Science Board games, File Folder games, and Discovery Centers. The students love the Discovery Centers because they are able to learn about different topics that we haven't covered in class yet.
We are using the resources when we have extra time in class to spare. The students are able to choose from an array of activities. I also use the resources when students finish their work early, they are able to sit at their desk with the activity they choose to complete.
While my students played the Science Board game it encouraged them to look up information on the computer that they didn't know. It has motivated my students to learn additional topics in Science on their own time. I have also seen some students check out additional books from the library on Science topics that have interested them from working on the Science Centers.
My class an I are VERY grateful you helped fund our Science Centers!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Ruiz
