I think it would be an incredible asset to have in the classroom for making biology more relatable and therefore more interesting for my high school students. This year I wanted to try out a new method in my classroom where my students would read Your Inner Fish throughout the year in order to increase not only basic reading skills, but scientific communication and literacy. The book includes many chapters that focus on the processes of evolution as well as the development of major patterns in body systems, which supports the established 9th-grade biology and AP biology curriculum incredibly well.
