  • Mathematicians Need Supplies!

    Funded Nov 10, 2015

I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. It is so nice to have many family members and friends that care for my children as much as I do.

Receiving the glue, scissors, headphones and paper cutter have saved time doing the various activities we do in the class. I know longer have to borrow items from other teachers and my students no longer have to borrow from classmates.

These materials have changed the atmosphere in my classroom. My students are so excited to be able to use scissors that work and not have to wait to share when having to cut something. Going to the computers is no longer wasted by trying to find a pair headphones to use as now each computer and a pair of headphones already plugged in and waiting to be used. The glue works so much better than glue sticks when using construction paper and the paper cutter is joy to have so we can save on wasting larger sheets of colored paper.

I thank you all again and hope to have your support on any future projects I may need funded.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Borasky

  • STEM to Help us Build our Future

    Funded Aug 22, 2015

I can't tell you how honored and happy I am to have you help my students getting STEM supplies for the classroom. The look on my students faces when the boxes arrive to our room is a wonderful uplifting experience.

The new STEM materials will help my students and allow them to have some fun in the process. They will definitely make the school year more enjoyable. We all took some time to just play with the various activities and I was amazed how they were actually attempting to follow procedures in the boxes to fulfill the lessons.

My students and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts and hope to make you as proud they make me. They love the new activities that we received and can not wait to be able to do the various activities.

We hope to find more giving people like you to help us in the future.”

    Funded Feb 17, 2015

I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. It is so nice to have many co-workers and friends that care for my children as much as I do.

Receiving the notebooks, folders, pencils, glue sticks, and crayons has shed a whole new light on the behaviors in my classroom. My students no longer have to be reminded about good behavior and receiving raffle tickets. Many students who had no motivation during the school day are now excited daily.

These materials have changed my classroom atmosphere from constant reminders about behaviors and the use of the dreaded "behavior chart," to constantly running off copies of raffle tickets. The students are actively participating in proper behaviors and has make both teaching and learning a joy.

I thank you all again and hope to have an empty treasure chest soon.”

Receiving the writing paper and colored pencils has shed a whole new light on writing in my classroom. . My students no longer whine about writing and look forward to using the googly eyes to create goofy characters and tell stories about them. Many students who had no motivation during this time are now excited daily.

  • i.P.a.d. (I Promise Academic Diligence)

    Funded Nov 14, 2014

I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. It is so nice to have many family and friends that care for my children as much as I do.

Having more technology in the classroom not only helps those in need, but also allows some to have "educational fun." The compactness of the iPad minis, will allow students to sit on the floor, at their desk, and wherever they want, while using technology with ease.

The iPads will transform our current technology and classroom, from a teacher-driven model, to a student-driven model, where the student is an active participant in their own learning, in a community of learners. Students will become better mathematicians and readers with these new iPad minis. And, they will have fun in the process.

I hope to share with my colleagues a new technique in learning. Thank you so much. I can't wait to introduce these tools to the children.”

    With gratitude,

  • S.O.C.K (Save our Computer Keyboards)

    Funded Sep 22, 2014

Thank you so much for helping complete this project. You are not only helping my class but 6 others as well. The excitement on the students faces when they first saw the colorful skins on the laptops was amazing. They thought it was "so cool" to use now because it isn't as boring looking at the keyboard.

I have already noticed my class using the color coding to help find the letters of the alphabet (in blue) and the numbers (in white). It seems to enable them to log in to their various site using their user names and passwords much quicker than before.

Thank you again for supporting our students and helping them become better keyboarders!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Borasky

My school is in a low-income area with a high ESOL population. I specifically teach 2nd grade with ESOL students who are beginners, Special Ed students who don't know their alphabet, and Regular Ed students reading anywhere from Kindergarten levels to 3rd grade levels. Many students knew no English just two years ago and now are just about at level. They all want to learn and have fun doing it. Technology of all sorts seems to be the way to go.
