Making Learning Fun!
Funded Dec 14, 2022I am so very thankful for your support of my students and classroom. My third-grade students were beyond excited to have these educational games as an incentive for hard work.
These games have helped my students practice and hone their skills in areas like, addition, multiplication, and fractions. Specifically, the games helped excite students and enabled them to have fun while enhancing their academic skills.
I was able to see their automacity in basic multiplication facts increase. Most importantly, it was wonderful to see that the games helped bolster their self-confidence.
Many thanks from my students and I. I hope my future students equally benefit from these great educational games.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Castro

Funded Oct 26, 2022I couldn't believe the level of excitement and enthusiasm my students displayed when they received their first issue of StoryWorks. It took a moment for them to settle down for the lesson. They were eagerly thumbing through the magazine and talking amongst themselves about their interest in the different stories. While I knew StoryWorks was supposed to be "high-interest," I had no idea the students would be this engaged.
We've used the magazines to help foster literacy skills in preparation for their first state test. Some of the skills and lessons worked on were short responses, text dependent questions, text features, and main idea.
Most recently, we used a story in one issue, Carla's Sandwich, in which a kid would bring in the most odd and seemingly disgusting sandwiches for lunch. The story had embedded lessons ("don't knock it until you try it!"), fostered individuality and self-confidence, and a host of character traits. They used the story to write an opinion based literary essay.
We thank you so very much for your generosity in helping this project come to life. These magazines have been truly impactful on their education and it was made possible from your support!”

Math-TASTIC Learning!
Funded Aug 8, 2022My third grade students were super excited to see all of the math games and resources we received with your donations.
They were especially excited to engage with the Power Pens. They light up green with various sounds when they get an answer correct. When they answer incorrectly, it lights up red with different fun sounds. It has stirred some friendly competition among the students and they are eager to practice their math fluency.
The best thing about these math resources is that they are making math fun for the kids. The students are increasing their automaticity in their basic mathematical operations. This is especially important as they are preparing for their state test in two months.
I'm looking forward to using the fractions resources as well. Fractions can prove to be an area of difficulty for students.
Thank you all so very much for your support! My students thank you as well!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Castro
