My students are growing up in a country where we require boys and girls to go to school everyday. They are blessed to live in a country that gives them an education, but not everyone in the world is granted this opportunity. When we discuss this my students question why students would be willing to walk miles to school or to risk their lives to go to school like Malala Yousafzai and so many like her did. We need to shed light on how much we take education for granted. Malala took tragedy and turned it into triumph, for her and millions of others like her. "I am Malala" takes readers on a journey through her struggle and fight for education and learning.
