It's Time for a Magic Carpet Ride!
Funded Jan 6, 2023Thank you for your support if the our students in our community! Your generous gift allowed us to establish seating for all levels of student in our elementary school. The bright green color has supported our welcoming atmosphere and has deemed this space the "heart of our school."
The large mat received lots of happy squeals from our students and some even rolled on the mat and created 'snow angels' with their bodies to show how much they loved the new space.
This mat is used for over 900 students to read, sit for lessons and build makerspace projects with Legos and blocks. I cannot thank you enough for believing in us and bringing our library to the next level for our leaders of tomorrow.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Council
This classroom project was brought to life by LOFT and one other donor.Tech Overhaul In The Library!
Funded Mar 2, 2019I am one of the more experienced teachers on my staff, and I learned that in order to be effective in my craft as an educator, I had to update some of the tools that I was using! In this case, I used the generous gift from the ACC to purchase an apple computer (which is known for its video capabilities and a professional grade camera to showcase special moments between students and staff and the community.
When I put the camera in the hands of our students (very carefully) their eyes lit up and they felt like professionals! We are about to start our news program for the 2019-2020 school year and we know that the gift you allowed me to get on behalf of our students will allow us move forward with confidence in a future-ready environment. Our fifth grade news team will take the lead in this venture.
Again, thank you for your investment today for our future!”

Take a Stand, Our Media Center Needs Seating!
Funded Nov 12, 2013Thank you for your generous donation given this summer to bring the project on Donor's Choose to life for the children at Hidden Valley Elementary School. The students at Hidden Valley have been enjoying the four comfortable seats on the floor of our Media Center for some time now, and I decided to extend our request to Donor's Choose to fund more seats. I was delightfully surprised when the funding came from a close neighbor! I am inspired to continue to beautify our library with these chairs for our students.
The Optimist Club has given much to the Hidden Valley community over the years. Through your members, you have expressed to us the true meaning of the Kwanzaa principles. Cooperative Work and Economics are areas that we need to strengthen in this community. Thank you for taking the lead in these efforts and making a difference for our youth!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Council
WARNING: WHVS TV Channel 7 News In Danger of "Techtinction!"
Funded Feb 23, 2011I am so delighted that our closed circuit news staff will be able to create projects with the use of the digital camera, camcorder, and microphones. We recently interviewed several students to serve on the staff and many of them shared that they are looking forward to careers in journalism and photography! One little boy told us that his father has often encouraged him in this area. Now, we have the resources to bring dreams to reality!
Thank you for your commitment to our future in this special way. We have had a wonderful response to students taking charge of the morning news program. Our principal has led us to have a Student Council and this will be another opportunity for students to utilize their leadership and STEM skills! This would not have been possible without our donors.
In our thank you pictures, I included CMS staff members upgrading our Production Room with a wireless video cart and computer connection to our broadcast system. We now can run PowerPoint presentations daily which include our students, staff and teachers making an important difference in our daily work. The remote cart has enabled our news staff to record and broadcast events around the school in real time! This is an incredible motivator for all of us to continue doing the right thing each day. Your contribution jump-started this wave of progress!
We look forward to sharing our success stories with you and the wider community! Thank you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Council
