  • Make their Books come to Life with a Canon Printer!!

    Funded Jun 13, 2013

Thank you all so much for your contributions to my classroom and to my students. Because of your generosity, my students can fully engage in their Ecosystems Children's Book project. Imagine their well-developed, creative projects in black and white. But thanks to your donation my students can truly express themselves in bold bright colors! Thank you so much. I cannot wait to show my students and my colleagues this wonderful new addition to our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sherman

  • Calculate This! How to Gather and Analyze Data.

    Funded Dec 2, 2010

This letter cannot properly express how thankful I am for your kind donation to my classroom. For many schools calculators seem like a basic supply, and most students take them for granted. But my school is a small school in the South Bronx, the poorest congressional district in the nation. We have to beg, borrow, and (practically steal) to get any decent supplies. Your donations have made my life, and certainly the lives of my students a little bit easier. Science and math often go hand and hand, but my students do struggle with basic computations. Now, with the use of these calculators, they can focus on the science content, not get frustrated by the math. This frees up their minds to take in all we are learning. Again, I and my students thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sherman

This is my 8th year of teaching, everyday is still a new challenge and I love it! A little about me and my school: my school is a small school in the poorest urban Congressional District in the country. Needless to say, the students in my school have faced many challenges that go along with being a member of a traditionally underprivileged group. My students strive to succeed even in the face of these overwhelming challenges. My school does not have the financial resources of suburban schools, and due to recent budget cuts resources are even tighter. Even so, I firmly believe that my kids deserve the same education as other children. I am asking you to please donate whatever you can to help me give my students the education they deserve.
