iPad for Teaching
Funded May 13, 2024Thank you for the generous donation of this iPad. We are using a new curriculum that is accessible through the iPad requiring critical thinking and real life problem solving. I am able to do my professional development through the use of this iPad. My goal is to use the iPad to present lessons on a Promethean board and Smartboard.
Our classroom has been improved because of your thoughtfulness. We are so appreciative of our community who helps to keep us on task and learning math with the best resources available to us.”

Funded Apr 29, 2024Thank you for the generous donation of these headphones. We are putting them to use to use with our online math program. Whenever we have to do our lessons that are on the computer, we can now use these headphones so we don't have to disturb the other students. We use a program that gives us individualized lessons that are according to our level so it is helpful to have headphones that help us to focus on our own lesson.

Math Chromebooks!
Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you for helping us buy these Chromebooks. The four machines that you donated to our school helped to give students access to the internet apps that we use in math class on a daily basis. We were given a class set of older Chromebooks to use but these four machines remain the favorites of the students, the preferred machines to borrow when they are in my classroom because they have a touch screen and a stylus pen.
Our school uses Schoology, a classroom management system that gives students access to their grades and assignments on a daily basis. We use the Chromebooks for online assignments, assessments, instructional videos and research.”

Funded Sep 20, 2022Thank you for helping us to buy patty paper for our Illustrative Mathematics Geometry Toolkits this semester. We were able to distribute packs to each of the math teachers at our school. There is a lot of exploration we can do with the see-thru tracing paper qualities of the patty paper in our math classes. Sixth graders started the year with tessellations, seventh graders worked with scaled drawings and eighth grade worked with rigid transformations. We definitely made use of the perfectly cut pieces of tracing paper along with the graphics in our textbooks, our graph paper, rulers, protractors and pencils.
Thank you, once again. We appreciate your generous support of mathematics for all!”

Funded Aug 7, 2022Thank you for the classroom set of Sean Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens". We are taking our time to read through it right now in my College EDS class. Our class is currently studying Habit #1: Be Proactive. This book has given us the chance to discuss the difference between good habits and bad habits. We are realizing that learning to establish habits that are positive will help us to be more effective in how we live our lives. Our goal for this class is for students to make plans for their future especially with college in mind.”

Funded Feb 25, 2022Thank you for helping us to buy calculators for the students at our school! We appreciate all of your generous support. Thank you for helping us to understand the beauty of math in the world around us.
It is wonderful to have calculators available in the classroom because we are looking for patterns, solving problems, modeling, graphing, creating tables, measuring, understanding grouping, and making sense of what we observe in the world around us. These calculators will help us to understand what a ratio is, how to average, find area, perimeter, circumference and where the number Pi comes from, just to name a few topics. So, thank you once again!”

We Need More Stamps!
Funded May 26, 2021Thank you for buying the stamps and the envelopes for our classroom during distance learning. We were able to write an encouraging letter with some stickers that we sent to the students and packed some seeds for them to plant.
I received notes from them in our school messaging system thanking us for the small package. We were able to send a small package to over 100 of our students.
We are continuing to plant different types of plants in our garden. We are now focusing on planting milkweed to attract butterflies onto our campus now that we are back on campus face to face.”

Prizes Through the Mail
Funded Jan 19, 2021Thank you for your generous support. It means so much to be encouraged in this way by you, our caring community. As of the writing of this letter, we have sent out an envelope to each student in 4 of my math classes.
We enclosed stickers that were prizes that the students earned during our zoom classes. If they answered questions and participated well we would write their name on the back of colorful stickers. Later these were stuffed into each envelope. Each student received a handful of stickers! We also wrote a note to cheer on each student because we miss them and think they are doing a great job of participating even at this time. In addition we sent a packet of seeds to each student so they are be prepared for a project that involves planting plants and charting the growth of the plant. We want the students to spend some time with nature while thinking about math at the same time.
Stay safe and well.”

Batteries Keep the Calculators Running
Funded Oct 19, 2019Your generosity and thoughtfulness is much appreciated. Something as small as providing these tiny electronic batteries for our calculators has made more learning possible for the students. We wanted to say thank you and your support means A LOT to us! The batteries came just at the right time! Not only can my students use the calculators in my classroom because they have POWER now, but our Academic Pentathalon team will be able to use them to prepare for their upcoming competition. Thank you for your help in all we are doing for our students.”
