  • DIY Masterpiece

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

The glow show was a HUGE success! The art room was transported to an undersea oasis of illuminated animals and plants, all thanks to your generosity.

I hope you know how precious your support is to our classroom. We are constantly getting accolades for the work we do. Every time I tell them to thank the donors that help me bring out the best in the kids. Without supplies to do special projects, the art just couldn't be quite as spectacular.

I was so very proud as the kids toured their grown ups through their art, explaining how we had created them. I hope you're also proud.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howell

  • PreK Passion

    Funded Oct 19, 2022

The PreK students and I are using the supplies, that you provided to us, every day!

We've made beautiful beaded necklaces, practicing our hand - eye coordination while using math. We've learned the scientific ways that fish are unique and then created fish rubbings. We've watercolored both masterpieces and backgrounds for other masterpieces. My smallest artists are making great creative things, thanks to you.

In short, we've been doing amazing art because of your generous hearts! And I am so thankful.”

  • Hygiene Help

    Funded Sep 19, 2022

Thank you so much for the hand sanitizer, wipes, and the real skin-toned bandages.

Of course, the wipes and the hand sanitizer were gone in a flash. They helped us stay happy and healthy.

The most incredible part of the project was the bandages. The first time I handed out a brown boo boo strip, the kids all oo'd and ahhh'd over it. Surprisingly, they didn't all immediately need one. I think they're saving them for real needs. It's amazing when they need one to be able to match up their skin tone to the multiple options. They truly feel "seen" with something so simple. It has also brought up some interesting conversations about skin tone while we're addressing quick first aid.”

  • Rack It

    Funded May 30, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity in supporting elementary arts education. We ran into a number of supply chain issues, so the project ended up including quite a few things that weren't originally ordered. Sadly, the drying rack was ordered twice and is still unavailable.

However, your generous donations bought us a number of fabulous supplies, that we are using on a daily basis to create wonderful, imaginative masterpieces.

Without your generosity, we would not be nearly as fabulous. We appreciate you!”

  • Clearly the Best

    Funded May 30, 2022

I hope you can see in the photographs how amazing the clear organizers look, filled with fabulous supplies, and sitting on the shelves.

More importantly, students are quickly able to clean up their supplies and keep them organized. Being able to see colored pencils, oil pastels, markers, and crayons from all sides of the organizer is keeping things sorted and much more tidy. It also builds independence and responsibility in the kids. So many benefits from a clear box!

Thank you again for your donations. We appreciate your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howell

  • Just the Basics

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

I am writing to thank you for the generous donations that you sent for our classroom. The paper, both for students and myself, has been invaluable.

We used some of the paper to make leopards, since we are the Longfellow Leopards. Kids from kindergarten through 5th grade learned a little about big cat anatomy, and particularly that leopards have rosettes (not spots). Some of them followed along with me, drawing as I drew. But many of them used reference photos and drew their own masterpieces.

    Thank you again!”

  • Simply the Best

    Funded Aug 14, 2022

Thank you so much for the fabulous supplies that your generosity has provided for my classes to use! We are already creating masterpieces using the crayons, colored pencils, and other basics that we needed to refresh from last year.

The kids absolutely adore the Colors of the World coloring materials from Crayola. They are constantly finding each others' skin tones and commenting about their excitement in using the exact right colors. We also used them when creating our leopards; colors of the world include many colors that work perfectly for a wide range of mammal fur.

    Again, thank you!”

  • Masterpieces on Display

    Funded Feb 10, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom activities and the display materials for our masterpieces!

The clear acrylic box frames are perfect for hanging masterpieces while making it easy to change out work. They make everything look beautiful with their repetition in the hallway. Everyone loves seeing our artwork as they walk up and down the main hall.

The watercolor paper that you helped us get is exactly the same size as the frames! No more having to measure and cut for an exact fit. It's a real time saver for 100 students!”

  • New Year, New Supplies

    Funded Jan 20, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity in sponsoring our art classroom!

Sewing and weaving are one of our favorite units. While they are enjoyable for the kids and I, they are also highly useful skills for them in the future. Also, they require practicing hand-eye coordination and improving fine motor skills.

The kiddos wove bookmarks. Then they learned how to sew a button onto fabric. Afterwards, they sewed little stuffed animals and tiny pillows. Many of them are still requesting to sew every day.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howell

  • Crafty and Creative

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

The art room has been nearly silent for the past week, yet full of artists. The kids are painstakingly moving yarn over and under, over and under, making fabric seemingly out of nothing. Their excitement is palpable!

Because of your generous donation, my 2nd - 5th graders aren't weaving paper this year, but real yarn in a beautiful array of colors. Some have chosen color themes like "sunset", "Christmas", or "warm colors", while others are making stripe patterns or just playing around with what they like at the moment.

I am a proud art teacher, because of you. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howell
