  • Paper Paper Paper!

    Funded Oct 31, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations that allowed our classroom to restock our paper and supplies. We have already used our new supplies for winter tree reflections in watercolor, western art featuring Texas animals and themes, and a Jordan Casteel lesson on drawing eyes.

Truly, without you and your kindness, I could not teach these kinds of lessons to the kids in my classes. I couldn't afford to fund the supplies out of my own paycheck and there is no school budget for my class.

Every artist knows that the paper you use makes the project a success.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howell

  • Behind the Art

    Funded Jul 27, 2024

It is with great appreciation that I write to thank you for sponsoring my recent project. Because of your generosity, we have been able to create stunning artworks and have many plans for more to come.

The laminator has already proved invaluable on multiple occasions. I use the paper cutter nearly every day to get clean, sharp edges that are actually straight. And while we haven't used the fabric scissors yet, they are poised for a project coming soon.

Mainly, I am thankful that you are willing to spend your own money to help some elementary school kids make art. For some of my kiddos, it's their only chance to express themselves and make beautiful things.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howell

  • Clean Up Time!

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Oh my goodness, I cannot say thank you enough for you funding our shop vac! We have already cleaned the kiln, cleaned up a HUGE glitter spill, and slurped up a bunch of fake snow from a display shelf. It's so easy just to wheel it out of the closet, plug, and go. Messes just disappear!

The best part is that the kids love this thing! They all play rock, paper, scissors to decide who gets to clean up with the vacuum. Hopefully they won't start making messes just to generate vacuuming opportunities!”

    With gratitude,

  • Clean and Happy

    Funded Jan 16, 2024

Thank you so much for funding health and wellness materials for the kids in my class. We've already started putting them to good use! Hands and faces are cleaner, some kids have taken wipe baths to freshen up, and tissues & sanitizer are helping us battle flu season.

We so appreciate your willingness to focus on our kids. You know our kids are worth the extra attention and that they will be amazing change makers. They know that strangers show them great empathy and trust when they fund our projects.”

  • Magnetic Art

    Funded Oct 30, 2023

Thank you so much for funding our magnetic art project! It was a big hit!

We put a piece of paper on top of a big piece of cardboard. Then we added 3 colors like the points of a triangle. Next, we put a small magnet on top of everything and used a bar magnet underneath to move the small magnet around through the paint.

The kids had a great time experimenting with primary colors, marbling colors, and making a beautiful muddy mess in the middle of the paper.

Once the paint dried, we used paper punches in shapes like circles, squares, butterflies, and cats to punch the paper out. We then took those beautifully marbled little paper bits and assembled them into bookmarks.

Again, thank you so much for funding this fun scientific art project that was enjoyed by everyone!”

  • Golden Japanese Arts

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting our Maki-e and Kintsugi project! The kids had the best time and we got so many compliments on our work.

We first practiced drawing Japanese motifs on black paper, then with gold pen on black plastic plates. Next, the "middles and littles" (grades 1 - 4) made our designs and then transferred them to black boxes. Meanwhile, the "bigs" (grade 5) designed their plates and applied the gold paints. After the bigs' work was done, we broke the plates and then applied the golden glue.

The end result was nothing more than stunning.”

  • LEGOs! YAY!

    Funded Apr 7, 2023

My littles were over the moon when they discovered we had another box of the fabulous STEM Legos. They absolutely adore the tunnels, swings, wheels, pulleys, and variety of connecting blocks that are very unique to this set. This set came with some super cute people, too! And of course, they found lots of colorful chunky regular Legos.

The Legos are one of their favorite downtime activities. Thank you so much for giving my students the opportunity to use, and learn while using, these timeless materials!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howell

  • See It, Paint It

    Funded Feb 21, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity in funding this project! The students were overjoyed to get to paint on real canvases. Most of them are proudly displaying their masterpieces at home, hanging on their walls; easier with the stretched canvases that you funded for us.

Additionally, the Scholastic Art magazines are adding great fun and inspiration to our art lessons. In particular, the students enjoy just getting to read the articles and look at "real-live artists doing real-live art". I enjoy the higher-order thinking questions that are embedded in the articles and the creative discussions they spawn.”

  • Hen Pecked

    Funded Apr 13, 2023

Thank you so very much for supporting both literacy and science in the art room! The students are absolutely LOVING all of the materials in the chicken box. They play with the puppets, read the books to each other and themselves, and investigate the pattern of growth through 28 days of egg development. While they love our chickens, the materials you so generously provided help them understand the chickens a little better.

Again, thank you for spending your money on our classroom and my students.”

  • DIY Masterpiece

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

The glow show was a HUGE success! The art room was transported to an undersea oasis of illuminated animals and plants, all thanks to your generosity.

I hope you know how precious your support is to our classroom. We are constantly getting accolades for the work we do. Every time I tell them to thank the donors that help me bring out the best in the kids. Without supplies to do special projects, the art just couldn't be quite as spectacular.

I was so very proud as the kids toured their grown ups through their art, explaining how we had created them. I hope you're also proud.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Howell
