  • Reading for the Win!

    Funded Apr 19, 2024

Thank you for funding our project for reading awards. Having these awards is very motivating for my students.

Each year I challenge my students to read 40 books in a variety of genres. If students complete their challenge they are eligible for a prize.

In addition, my students have reading benchmarks they are challenged to reach. Combined with the 40 book challenge, students who show growth have more opportunities to earn more prizes.

The prizes you donated have kept my students motivated to read and reach their goals.

Recently my students took a reading benchmark test. The class goal was to have 90% of students showing improvement. 100% of my class showed growth. I am happy to honor their effort and growth by rewarding them. Thank you for donating prizes to reward the kids!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Azevedo

  • Dancing for P.E.

    Funded Apr 16, 2024

Thank you for funding our project for a speaker, scarves and CDs. All of these items are to be used for our p.e. program. Students can listen to the CDs and dance! The scarves are to add some flair so students can express themselves.

So many times we think of p.e. as playing ball sports or running. It is important to also add in movement like dance to give students a variety of ways to stay active. This gives students more opportunities to move.

Many students don't like the traditional way to exercise and moving through dance gives them a fun way to exercise.”

  • Art Supplies Refills

    Funded Apr 16, 2024

Thank you for funding our project for art supplies. We were running low on a lot of our materials so I requested the supplies so my students could continue to do the wonderful project we have done for years.

I requested crayons for each child because they are essential to the classroom. The soap base will be used to make soap for my students' moms for Mother's Day.

The most important resource I requested is the skin-toned color paper. This paper is for making self-portraits. I find that when students make pictures of themselves they struggle when they have plain white paper. They feel the paper doesn't represent them. When they have the skin-toned supplies they are more confident when creating their projects.

    Thank you for your generosity!”

  • Odds and Ends

    Funded Apr 16, 2024

Thank you for funding our project for books. I requested books that are commonly requested titles in the classroom. I find that each year there are certain books that are popular. When a series of books ends up being requested by most of the students, I have a hard time keeping enough books on the shelves for them to read. This can be frustrating and can turn students off of reading. I requested books to either complete a series or to add multiple copies. Having all of these books will keep my students engaged and motivated to read. Thank you for your generosity.”

  • Teachers to the Rescue

    Funded May 8, 2024

Thank you for funding our project for Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards. These gift cards are gold to teachers. I love having a few gift cards on hand so I can purchase the materials needed immediately. I use the gift cards to purchase supplemental materials for our reading and math programs. Teachers know what teachers need and want so the quality of the materials they produce is perfect. This week we are reading a biography on Roberto Clemente. To supplement the book, I have puchased materials to study biographies. Students will extend their knowledge of biographies by doing a book report on another famous person. I used my TPT giftcard to purchase the worksheets for the biography project.”

  • Merry Christmas!

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you for funding our project for Christmas supplies and gifts.

The one item I was really excited about receiving was the Babymouse books. Each year I gift my students a copy of the Babymouse Christmas book. I teach third grade and I love introducing them to this series. Many times after introducing them to the series, they start reading the rest of the books.

Other items like wrapping paper, tissue and art supplies were used to make gifts for parents. The puzzle books and squishes were given to students as their Christmas gifts.

    Thank you for your generosity!”

  • STEM Learning

    Funded Nov 9, 2023

Thank you for funding our supplies for STEM learning. A lot of the supplies requested are to refill our science supplies. Items like cotton balls, soap, and vinegar are used in our science experiments. The oils are used for a soap-making project we create for Mother's Day. The Airtags are used for our devices that are carried to other areas on campus. Our classroom iPads are used for many different projects like in the garden, and having a tag to keep track of them is an easy way to make sure they don't get lost.”

  • Multiplication Mania

    Funded Nov 9, 2023

Thank you for funding our project for multiplication manipulatives. In third grade, students are expected to master their multiplication facts. In order to do so, they need to practice their facts daily.

I requested games and manipulatives to help my students learn their facts. To keep kids wanting to learn, these new materials will keep kids motivated and engaged.

I am tutoring daily after school. We are using these games and manipulatives to practice facts. Every Thursday at the end of tutoring, my students host a games day. They use the games you provided to teach the younger students how to learn their facts.

    Thank you for your generosity.”

  • Mustang Store

    Funded Sep 8, 2023

Thank you for funding our project for the Mustang Store. Our class gets the chance to shop at the store each Friday. In order to make the store successful, I need to offer a lot of fun items that can be purchased.

We use a token economy in our classroom. Students are awarded classroom money for good behavior. On Fridays, students can spend their money at the Mustang Store.

I have been using this program for years and students work hard to earn their money. I have found my classroom is quieter, kids are well behaved and the kids are better at completing their work.

    Thank you for your generosity!”

  • Keeping Our Class Organized

    Funded Sep 7, 2023

Thank you for funding our project for organizational supplies.

I requested a variety of colorful boxes and trays. My students use the boxes to store our classroom books. The boxes are colorful and pleasing and the different colors help with sorting the books by category.

The trays are a wonderful item to use for art and science. The kids use them to sort items. They also use them as a base for messy art projects. The trays are versatile and we use them daily for many different tasks.

    Thank you for your generosity!”
