  • Read Alouds

    Funded May 8, 2019

Thank you for donating these amazing read aloud books to our classroom! This year I am trying something new. Instead of spending time reading the weekly story from our anthology, we will be reading these books as a class and doing a more in-depth study. This will allow us to interact with the stories and analyze the text.

We started school a few weeks ago and we have started reading our first story together as a class. I have been reading the book to my students as they follow along, and they are enjoying their experience. For many, the book I have introduced is one of many in a book series and many are wanting to read the other stories in the series. Success!

Thank you for your generosity by seeing this project fully funded. I love seeing my students get excited to read when I tell them we are going to read our story. What a great way to start out the year.”

  • Charged Up!

    Funded May 2, 2019

Thank you for providing my students charging stations for their electronic devices. There is nothing more frustrating than coming into school and not having your device not working because it has a dead battery. These chargers will be used around the room for quick and easy charging access to keep our computers ready to use at all times.

I have placed the chargers around the room. Whenever someone needs a quick charge, they can go to one of the chargers and hook up their device. This allows students to continue working on the computers while they charge. It saves time and is making our classroom more efficient. It is just like having pencils that are sharpened. The computers are tools that we use every day and need them ready to use at all time.

The headphones will be used for the students' computers. They will use them to listen to stories, music and to help drown out external noise.

Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for giving us the tools we need to get the job done!”

  • Multiplication Practice

    Funded Apr 8, 2019

Thank you for funding our project for games and manipulatives to practice multiplication. My students are in third grade and learning multiplication facts is one of our goals for the year.

In order to get better at learning the multiplication facts students must practice them every day. Unfortunately they get bored with just memorizing the facts so that is why I have requested games to help them stay motivated to practice.

Every Friday we have game day. If students are caught up with all of their work they get to play games. These multiplication games will be perfect for our game days.

Thank you for your generosity. We appreciate your contribution to our class.”

  • Color Our World

    Funded Apr 17, 2019

I cannot thank you enough for donating a colored printer to our classroom. We use our printer all the time to print homework, anchor charts and student work.

The one great feature of our printer is it is wireless. We can be anywhere in the classroom or on campus and can print our documents. This allows for our learning to be portable. We can work in the garden, the library or in other classrooms and still produce our work.

Being a colored printer is a bonus. Printing students' stories with colorful illustrations brings their work to life. Printing anchor charts in color for student reference makes learning more engaging. It also makes the classroom colorful and inviting.

Thank you for your generous donation. We have been using the printer and are enjoying how efficient and easy it is to use.”

  • A Little Bit of This....

    Funded Jan 21, 2019

Thank you for funding our project for all the odds and ends supplies needed to make our classroom run smoothly. We will soon be ending our school year but we have run out of materials and supplies that are essential to running our classroom.

The snacks are used as a rewards for good behavior. We have a classroom economy and students earn tickets for good behavior. On Friday, students can spend their tickets for rewards.

The supplies such as ink and folder are to help keep our classroom organized and running. The ink is to print parent communication, student work and anchor charts.

Thank you for your generous donation. We appreciate your contribution to our class.”

  • Getting New Basketballs Would Be a Slam Dunk!

    Funded Jan 9, 2019

Our girls' basketball season ended with a great result. They took second place in the end of the season tournament! We were all so excited and thrilled for the girls and their coach.

We have a great group of players, a supportive community and a committed school. The one thing we were lacking for our basketball program were quality basketballs for the girls to use for practices and games. The balls you donated were used for practices to build foundational skills and to practice plays and drills.

Thank you for generosity. Our girls gained a lot of knowledge from their successful year playing basketball and will take their new skills with them to play at the high school level. Thank you for making this possible by donating all the basketballs.”

  • Back To The Basics

    Funded Jan 1, 2019

Thank you for funding our project for the basics. We are more than halfway through the year and our supplies has dwindled. We needed the construction paper, Expo Markers, sticky notes and clipboards to let us continue to make art projects and to add content to our interactive journals.

My students were thrilled when they saw all the fresh new supplies. I was thrilled, too!

Currently my students are using the construction paper to make a poster for the Every Drop Counts! water conservation poster contest. We will use the paper to also make area people which will help solidify the concepts of perimeter and area. My students love this project and look forward to it every year. Having the construction paper will allow us to continue to create these concept solidifying projects.

We will use the Expo Markers for our whiteboards. Students use them to write responses to problems and then I can see their work when they hold up boards. The markers make their work much more engaging.

We truly appreciate your generosity. We will be able to finish off our year strong since we will have the supplies that are essential to running our classroom.”

  • Inclusion Through Food!

    Funded Dec 9, 2018

Thank you for donating cooking supplies and food for our Inclusion Through Food project. The first social we had was the day before we left for Christmas break. We used the kettle, cups, utensils and cereal to have a breakfast social. For the social, students were instructed on how to take turns serving oneself, to partake in a give and take conversation and to serve and clean-up. This first event was successful and students were calm and engaged on a day when the environment can be chaotic and stressful, for some, as it was the day before our two week break.

We look forward to having more socials. We felt having a social versus having a party helped keep our environment more relaxing. It also helped teach students how to be good citizens and it allowed students to practice using their social skills. Thank you for your generosity.”

  • New Supplies for a Newly Built Classroom

    Funded Nov 28, 2018

Thank you for supplying our class with new supplies. My students and I are excited about the fresh, new supplies. We are getting ready to move into our new classroom, which is being built after my building was lost to a school fire two years ago. Having new supplies for our new room will make the room feel warm and welcoming.

As the year progresses, we use up a lot of our school supplies for every day work and projects. At this time of year, which is more than halfway through the year, we are running low on these essential classroom items. The supplies, snacks, ink, pencils and pens will help replace the supplies that are crucial to keeping our classroom running smoothly.

Thank you for you generous donation. Having all these fresh, new pens, pencils and tasty snacks are a great way to keep my students motivated and excited as we start the last trimester of the year.”

  • Books for Our 40 Book Challenge

    Funded Oct 25, 2018

Thank you for donating all the wonderful books to our classroom! My students love to read and having new titles keep them motivated to do so.

My students participate in a challenge called the 40 Book Challenge. Students are required to read books in a variety of genres like fantasy, poetry and biography. The books requested in this grant were to add to our genre collection. I found that we were lacking in certain genres such as fairy tale, poetry and fables. We now have more books to help students reach their goals.

Having different types of books to read has helped introduce new stories to my students. Many times they want to read one type of book, not realizing that there a many other types of literature available. Participating in the 40 Book Challenge has opened up my students' eyes to a wide variety of books. Many students now have been broadening their search for different types of books when visiting the library.

    Thank you for your generosity.”
